Stephanie Crim
Services for Stephanie “Steffie” Stella Crim, 95, of Mabank, were held Dec.
28, 2011, at St. Jude Catholic Church, in Gun Barrel City, with Father Dan
Daughtery officiating under the direction of Moorhead-Epps Funeral Home in
Mabank.
Crim was born Oct. 6, 1916, in Frankford, Ill., to Mary and Steve Skales and
died Dec. 25, 2011, in Terrell.
She moved to Mabank from Tulsa, Okla. in 1993.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl C. Crim, brother
Johnny Skales, grandson Randy Pherigo, sister-in-law Mary Jo Skales and
niece Janet Mehm.
Survivors include daughters Anne Cason and husband Ken, Carole Sue
Richardson; granddaughter Teresa Stribling and her husband, George;
grandsons Jeffrey Pherigo, Richard Pherigo and his wife, Shirley, Harold
Dean Johnson and his wife, Jenny; great-granddaughters Giulianna Pherigo,
Rochelle Aron and Sherilyn Mae Tirados; great-grandsons Jeremy Johnson, and
Kyle Pherigo; many other family and friends.
William Preston, Sr.
Services for William Cody (Bill) Preston, Sr., 60, of Cedar Creek Lake, will
be held at 7 p.m. Thursday (today), Jan. 5, 2012, at Anderson-Clayton Bros.
Funeral Home in Kaufman.
Preston was born April 11, 1951, to Neva (Hunter) and Cody Preston and died
Dec. 29, 2011, in Dallas.
He spent his spare time and weekends at his cabin located in Deep East Texas
and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the time outdoors and
traveled frequently to fish on the coast.
Preston trained dogs for companionship and hunting and had a great sense of
humor and incredible wit.
He worked as a boiler technician and was the one others called upon “when it
couldn’t be done.”
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Ben Lee Preston; children Cody and April
Preston; grandchildren William Cody Preston III, Tori Peaches Preston, and
James Colt Preston; brother Forrest Preston; many nieces, nephews, extended
family and friends.
Bonnie Smith
Services for Bonnie D. Smith, 88, Kemp, will be held at a later
date under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points.
Smith was born Oct. 11, 1922, in Dallas to Eva Mary and Milene Davis and
died Dec. 28, 2011, in Mabank.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Herman, sisters Grace
Powell and Gladys Fortune and brother Leon Davis.
Survivors include daughter Melanie Stroud; sister Dorothy Knox; brother
George Davis; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Ronald Huckabee
Services for Ronald “Bro. Ron” Huckabee, 50, were held Jan. 1, 2011, at
Lakeside Baptist Church officiated by Bros. Floyd Loven, Matt Loafman, Pat
Morrell, and Brian Merchant under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in
Malakoff.
Huckabee was born June 30, 1961, in Dallas, to Helen and Daniel Huckabee and
died Dec. 29, 2011.
He was reared and attended school in Athens. He married his soul mate and
love of his life Beverly Newell on July 31, 1981. They celebrated their 30th
anniversary this year.
Huckabee was a minister since 1986 and served as youth and assistant pastor
at Lakeside Baptist Church in Trinidad until 1995.
He then became the pastor of Parkview Baptist Church, Malakoff. He loved
being pastor and served as pastor until after his accident in 2005, which
left him paralyzed from the neck down.
In 2006, he began working for Marketplace Ministries, in Plano and became
assistant pastor of Lakeside Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his father, sister Elizabeth Fay Huckabee,
grandparents and special friend Rebekah Jean Heath.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; children Elizabeth Goode and husband
Dane, Bubba Heath, Jerry and Jennifer Tucker; mother Helen Huckabee, father
James Newell and mother-in-law Fayrene; grandchildren Drake Keith and
Joslynn Grace Goode, Christian and Rebekah Tucker; brothers Lonnie and wife
Rhonda Slocum, Dan Huckabee and wife Kathy, Aubry Huckabee and wife Dawn and
Tim Huckabee; brother-in-law Dwayne Newell and wife Melissa; sister Rita
Knight and husband Larry; sister-in-law Debi Evans and husband Bill; friends
and caregivers Regeana Heath, Fay Newell, LaCrista Walker, John Kelly, Tammy
Turner; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.
Pallbearers were Bubba Heath, Dane Goode, Jerry Tucker, Dewitt Loven, Daniel
Jarrett, Ray Crocker, Doug Loven and Zach Jarrett.

Stella Parson-Terry
Services for Stella Beatrice Parson-Terry, 82, of Malakoff will be held at a
later date.
She was born July 29, 1926, in Shamrock, to Francis and Amos Buster and died
Dec. 29, 2011, in Athens.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean William Terry. They were
married in 1945.
Survivors include daughters Sharon Ann Flickinger, Eustace, Paula Rene
Gunderson, Athens; son Bill William Terry of Tuscon, Ariz.; six
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
