Services for Ronnie Rachal, 45, Canton, were held Jan. 11, 2009, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Hamp Manning officiating under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Rachal was born Feb. 13, 1963, in Vernon and died Jan. 9, 2009, in Canton.
He was a bookkeeper and veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees, and was a member of the Aley Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include his wife Robbie Rachal, Canton; sons Ryan Cortez Rachal, McKinney; Michael Killie, Plano; and J.R. Lester, Canton; daughters Tara Shankles, Lewisville; Amanda Rachal, Plano; and Valerie Kile, Plano; stepfather and stepmother James and Laverne Clanton, Dallas; sisters Susan Shelton, Dallas; Lisa Mojeck, Wisconsin; Pat Hodges, Oklahoma; and Deborah Raza, Irving; and grandson Max Lester.
Services for Jesse W. McGill, 57, Gun Barrel City, formerly of Hanford, Calif., were held Jan. 10, 2009, at Moorhead-Epps Funeral Home of Gun Barrel City.
McGill was born Feb. 12, 1951, in Lamesa to Irene and Frank McGill and died Jan. 7, 2009, in Athens.
Survivors include his partner Bonnie Carroll; son Jesse McGill Jr. and wife Viviana, daughters Kristi Johnson and husband Chris; Misty Hutchins and husband Chris; mother Irene Dodd; sister Jeanetta “Nettie” and husband Charlie; niece Tammy Staples and husband Tim; nephews Frank Boettcher and wife Melissa; Larry Toettcher and wife Joann; forever “wifey” Yolanda McGill; eight grandchildren; many other loving extended family members, friends and loving brothers.
Services for Dean Hurlburt, 77, Payne Springs, were held Jan. 12, 2009, at the Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Burial was in Payne Springs Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Hurlburt was born Jan. 19, 1931, in Seymour and died Jan. 8, 2009, in Malakoff.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a stepdaughter.
He was a carpenter and had resided in Payne Springs for the past seven years and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He was veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife Mildred Hurlburt, Payne Springs; son Gary Hurlburt, Payne Springs; stepson Tony Metcalf, Euless; daughters Connie Stovall, Payne Springs; and Miya Morman, Mabank; stepdaughter Sharon Hester, Burleson; brothers Pete, Neal, Billy, J.R., Eddie, Jody and James Hurlburt; sisters Anna Shaw, Delia Shaw and Chunkie Eden; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Gary Stovall, Adrian Morman, Kevin Liggitt, Jay Wolverton, Jason Metcalf and Fredie Eden.
Honorary pallbearer was Tony Liggitt.
Services for Donald O. Gafford, were held Jan. 12, 2009, at the Roselawn Chapel with interment following in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Gafford was born May 4, 1935, in Cayuga and died Jan. 7, 2009.
He was a principal with the Dallas Independent School District.
Survivors include his wife Sue Gafford; daughter Julie Costlow and husband Paul; son Alan Gafford and wife Amy; grandchildren Zachary, Cody, Payton, Allyson, Anna and Andrew; brother Troy Gafford, Louisiana; sisters Jean Gafford, Gladewater; Maxine Stein, Gladewater; and Ruthie Berry, Athens; brother Lee Roy Gafford, Dallas; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside services for Doug Cullen, 82, Lindale, were held Jan. 12, 2009, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove with the Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Cullen was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Dallas and died Jan. 9, 2009, in Lindale.
He was preceded in death by his stepson Charles Inman, sister Louise Stacy and brother H.V. Cullen.
Previously of Blooming Grove, he had resided in Lindale for the past six years and was of the Baptist faith. He was a minister, veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and a 32nd Degree Mason.
Services for Betty Baker Redwine, 69, Seven Points, were held Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009 (today), at Guthrie Cemetery with Brother Floyd Loven officiating under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Homes in Seven Points.
Redwine was born July 14, 1939, in Vicksburgh, Miss., to the late Catherine and Louis Baker Sr. and died Jan. 11, 2009, in Seven Points.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Redwine, sons Roland and Louis Redwine.
She worked as a carhop in the food industry.
Survivors include daughter Becky Joles, Seven Points; son Darrell and wife Andrea Redwine, Eustace; sisters Catherine Barlow, Mississippi; Bonnie Holder, Tennessee; brother Louis Baker Jr., Mississippi; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
