    Marie Saylors
Services for Marie Garlington Saylors, 84, Athens, were held Jan. 25, 2007, in the Gordon-Foster-Brown Chapel. Burial was in the Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens.
Saylors was born Sept. 12, 1923, in Fastrill and died Jan. 22, 2007, in South Place Nursing Home in Athens. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Saylors, parents Osco and May Walton Garlington and sister Reba Carpenter.
She was a waitress and member of Barton’s Chapel Assembly in Murchison. She came to Henderson County in 1939 and lived here for 68 years.
Survivors include her son Frank Saylors, Eastland; daughters Sue Hurst, Longview; and Barbara Williams and husband Ray, Murchison; granddaughters Lisa Von Spreecken and husband Gale; Katrina Cook; grandsons Eddie McDade; Randy McDade and wife Karen; Kyle Saylors and wife Erica; Kenny Saylors and Brent Williams and wife Danielle; great-grandchildren Jonathan Von Spreecken, Justin Von Spreecken, Austin McDade and Hunter McDade, Drew Cook, Cody Cook and Alyssa Cook, Brendan Williams and Trinity Williams.
Pallbearers were Ray Williams, Brent Williams, Eddie McDade, Randy McDade, Kyle Saylors, Kenny Saylors, Gale Von Spreecken and Kevin Head.

Amanda Tarver
Services for Amanda Pearl Tarver, Malakoff, were held Jan. 26, 2007, at the New Hope C.M.E. Church in Malakoff. Interment followed in Steen Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff.
Tarver was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Malakoff, and died Jan. 22, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Tarver Sr., son Dexter Tarver, parents Mary Magdalene “Maggie” Bass and Ben Johnson, brothers Thomas and Milton Bass, and sisters Helen Bass Parker and Vera Thomas.
She was a member of the New Hope C.M.E. Church. She was valedictorian of her class at the Malakoff Colored High School in 1945 and pursued an interest in nursing and beauty school.
She married the late Marshall Tarver Sr. Sept. 8, 1947.
Survivors include her sons Marshall Jr. and his wife Clara, Roger, and daughters Joyce, Jerrilyn, Katrina, Helen and her husband Howard; 15 grandchildren LaKesha, Nikki and husband Derrice, ‘Nisa, Damon, Skyja, Maurice, Quitta, Marhsall II, Demetria, Archie, Sean, Kimberly, Howard II and Regan; great-grandchildren Jalie, Derrick Jr., Kylah, “Bubba” and Jaden; brother Barron C. Bass and wife Sara; sisters-in-law, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, relatives, friends and an adopted mother, Vee McCalister.

Katye Jones
Graveside services for Katye Bell Lanceford Jones, 83, was held Jan. 26, 2007, at Restland Cemetery in Dallas under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff.
Jones was born Feb. 28, 1923, in Crandall and died Jan. 22, 2007, at ETMC in Athens. She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest M. and Cora Fife Lunceford, husband Echols J. Jones, and son Terry Echols Jones.
She had resided in Malakoff since moving from Garland in 1971. She was a wife, mother of three children, member of the Baptist Church and a printer.
Survivors include her daughter Lou Ann Harmon and husband Curtis, Denton; son Jay Jones and wife Robbin, Malakoff; granddaughter Tonya Taylor and husband Scotty, Sanger; and grandson David Gray and wife Michelle, Memphis.

Lori Rosinski
Services for Lori Rosinski, 55, Kaufman, were held Jan. 26, 2007, at Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gloyd Robinson officiating.
Rosinski was born Aug. 9, 1951, in Newark, N.J., and died Jan. 23, 2007, in Kaufman.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sisters, Karen and husband Tom Hibbitt and Susan and husband Richard Guadett; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Lillian Phillips
A memorial service for Lillian M. Dosser Phillips, 85, Athens, was held Jan. 26, 2007, at the Gordon-Foster-Brown Chapel with Thom Taylor presiding. Burial was in Willow Springs Cemetery.
Phillips was born March 8, 1921, in Athens and died Jan. 22, 2007, in West Place Nursing Home in Athens. She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis Edward and Willie Viola Pate Dosser, husband Howard Phillips, son Louis Gene Phillips and daughter Sandra McLean.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Cayuga.
Survivors include her son Bryan Phillips, granddaughters Julie Avila, Carey Sell and Linda Pillan, grandson Ricky Phillips, three brothers and a host of other relatives.
