Services for Vivian June Conner were held Jan. 31, 2007, at the First Baptist Church of Tool with Bro. Ed Brennan officiating under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points. Burial was in Mankin Cemetery.
Conner was born June 6, 1932, in Shelbyville and died Jan. 27, 2007, in Athens. She was preceded in death by her parents Earnest and Zilla Strickland, husband Walter Conner, sister Betty Lou Tabler, and brother Vernon Strickland.
Survivors include her son Tim Conner; daughter Angela and husband Jesse Webb; sisters Bobbie McCullough and Mickey Fryman; grandson Cazzter Troy Webb; granddaughter Lynnette Aelwyn-Inez Webb.
Services for Mary Cartlidge Arnold, 63, Trinidad, were held Jan. 31, 2007, at the Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malakoff with Bro. Floyd Loven officiating. Burial was in Trinidad Cemetery.
Arnold was born Nov. 17, 1943, in Lubbock and died Jan. 28, 2007, in Corsicana. She was preceded in death by her parents John Cartlidge and Euna Mae Gray Cartlidge, sister Maxine Cartlidge and brother John Dee Cartlidge.
She was a retired municipal judge of Trinidad and a member of the First Baptist Church of Trinidad.
Survivors include her husband Donald R. Arnold, Trinidad; children Gary M. Arnold and wife Cathy, Athens; and David K. Arnold and wife Amy, Trinidad; brother A.C. Cartlidge and wife Hildred, Trinidad; sister-in-law Nelda Cartlidge, Malakoff; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were David Burton, Danny Cartlidge, Bobby Cartlidge, Benny Cartlidge, Herman Rodgers, Andy Arnold, Jerry Wayne Stanfield and James Curtis.
Honorary pallbearer was Kenneth Carter.
Graveside services for Mittie “Honey” Casteel, 93, Mabank, will be held Feb. 4, 2007, at Oaklawn Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Schauer officiating under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home in Terrell.
Casteel was born March 19, 1913, in Mabank and died Jan. 29, 2007, in a Terrell hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Casteel in August, 1971, and daughter LaVerne Anderson in June, 2004.
The Casteels were married in 1928 and made their home near Mabank where they farmed, ranched and hauled water in the area for many years.
She was a longtime member of the Mabank Eastern Star local chapter OESIS No. 821. She enjoyed fishing, mowing her yard, gardening and raising her cattle.
Survivors include her daughter Barbara Bonsal, Mabank; granddaughters Marsha Morse, Pam Chandler and Paula Sexton, all of Mabank; great-grandchildren Brian, Dustin, Hunter and Montana Morse, Ashley Sexton, Stacey Hampson, Melissa Zemanek and Jennifer Chandler; great-great-grandchildren Anthony and Dessie Zemanek.
