    Niles E. Cotton
Services for CSM Niles E. Cotton were held Feb. 7, 2007, with Bro. Lester Thomas officiating under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home, Seven Points.
Cotton was born in Michigan, Nov. 12, 1943, and passed away at his home in Payne Springs, Feb. 2, 2007.
He retired from the U.S. Army in 1990 and was the recipient of numerous medals and commendations.
He was Commander of American Legion Post 310 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Seven Points.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Julia Cotton, and brother Gorden Cotton.
Survivors include his wife Anna; son George and wife Stephanie; brothers Bruce, David, Cliff and Melvin Cotton; sisters Jerri Cotton, Paula Fallstead, Edith Watts; grandson Austin Cotton; and granddaughter Madison Cotton.
Burial was in Dallas/Fort Worth Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.

Laverna Smith-Mills
Born June 10, 1930, to Lamon and Effie Smith in Kemp, Laverna Smith-Mills, 76, died Jan. 25, 2007, after a long illness.
Services were held at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home Chapel Jan. 27, 2007, with the Rev. Jacky Fritz officiating. Interment followed at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park.
She was a member of the graduating class of 1948 at Kaufman High School. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Seven Points.
Married three times, she was preceded in death by each husband.
She is survived by son Jamie Brown and his wife Nancy, of Gun Barrel City; grandchildren Jamie Brown and Jenifer Brown of Waxahachie; Vanessia Smith of Gun Barrel City; Delinda McCabe of Little Rock, Ark.; Jacky and Tiffany Fritzy of Scurry; Wendy Dalton of Springdale, Ark.; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She will now be treated with the love and respect that she so truly deserved. We will be looking forward to the time that we will see her again. We will miss her. What a jewel the Lord has in this one.

Dave D. Clark
A celebration of life service was held for Dave D. Clark, 36, Dallas, Feb. 2, 2007, in the Oak Cliff Funeral Chapel in Dallas.
Clark was born Nov. 22, 1970, and died Jan. 29, 2007, in Dallas.
He was a 1989 graduate of Mabank High School and worked for the Cedar Creek Pilot for several years as a photo-journalist and other publications in the Metroplex.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law Daniel C. and Michele A. Nix; brothers Ronnie D. Perkins and Adam C. Clark; and good friends Chase Dickerson and Jerry Burney.
The family requests that contributions in the memory of Dave D. Clark be made to St. Judes Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Wayne York
Memorial services for Wayne York will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, in the Anderson Clayton Bros. Chapel, Kemp.
York was born March 23, 1935, in Ada, Okla., to the late Atticus Levi and Mattie (Babbitt) York and passed away Jan. 29, 2007, in Ohio.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and preceded in death by his daughter, Sam Davis.
Survivors include his wife Gracie York of Mabank; son Dwayne York of California; daughter April Petty of Mabank; stepdaughters Judy Miller of Mabank and Nikki Davis of Garland; and stepson Davie Davis of San Angelo; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Davenport of Republic, Mo., and Leslie York of Heavnor, Okla.

Joyce Tedford
Services for Joyce H. Tedford, 77, Mabank, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, with the Rev. George Yarger officiating under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Tedford was born Aug. 6, 1929, in McKinney and died Feb. 2, 2007, in Mabank.
Previously of McKinney, she had lived in Mabank for the past 10 years and was a member of Harbor Baptist Church. She retired from Goodyear Rubber Co. as a secretary. She was a substitute teacher in area schools.
Survivors include her daughter Phyllis J. Holman of Hondo, and son Phillip Barnett of Florida.
