Pet adoption Feb. 18 at T Bar T in Kaufman
Special to The Monitor
KAUFMAN–Volunteers from the Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake (HSCCL) Animal Shelter will help with the “My Funny Kitten” adoption event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at T Bar T Farm Supply in Kaufman.
In need of adoption, are 15 kittens, ranging from 3-months to 8-months-old, Siamese to tabby, in a variety of colors including grey, seal point, black and white, and tortoiseshell.
These kittens deserve a life outside a cage and more space is needed at the shelter to make room for the inevitable spring litters.
Adoption fees for the kittens are $65 each or $100 for a pair (they are so used to playing together!) which includes spay and neutering, age appropriate vaccines, deworming, microchipping and ID tag.
A special group of cats, members of the Lonely Hearts Club, who are over 5 years old and/or have been at the shelter for two months, may be adopted for $45.
February Lonely Hearts Club cats includes Olivia, a 13-year-old gold and white long haired cat, owner surrender, Mocha, a seal point Siamese mix and Mr. Hope, a black and white tabby.
Lonely Hearts Club dogs ready for adoption for a reduced fee of $75 includes Frances, a 10-month-old Catahoula mix, Hoss, an 8-month-old housebroken terrier mix, Gunner, a year-old chow mix (needs a six foot high fenced-in yard) and Morris, a year-old black poodle mix.
Also at the shelter, needing homes are Blossom, a 2-year-old boxer mix (needs to be the only dog in the family) and Asia, a 2-year-old pit bull mix, which will require a home visit before finalizing the adoption.
Bring your own dog or cat to T Bar T for microchipping for only $20.
T Bar T will also have a mobile vet present providing low cost vaccines for horses, dogs, cats etc!
For more information on vaccines, call T Bar T at (972) 962- 7677.
Volunteers are always needed to care for the many animals that find their way to the shelter each day through owner surrender, animal control and area law enforcement officials.
The shelter makes every effort to place these puppies and kittens in a foster home until they are the appropriate age and size for adoption.
Please sign up at T Bar T Feb. 18 or call Lynn Ackerman (214) 502-6567.
HSCCL is located at 10200 CR 2403, in Tool, off FM 274.
For more information about on volunteering, the foster family class or adoption requests for a specific breed or age of dog or cat, call (903) 432-3422.
