soccer action

While falling over Kemp Yellowjacket defender Matt Kinney (4),
Mabank Panther attacker Nathan Floyd accidently kicks Kemp
goalie Derek Whiteley (left) in the eye as Whiteley lunges to
secure the ball in front of the Kemp goal during the first half
of Mabank's 3-0 district soccer win over the hosting
Yellowjackets Saturday. Play was halted for about five minutes
while Whiteley received treatment for a gash, but he returned to
the contest and subsequently made three key saves, leading to a
0-0 halftime tie.
