James Cox
Services for James “Paw-Paw” Cox, 59, of Cedar Creek Lake, were held March 14, 2012, at the Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel in Kemp, with Tim Boles officiating. Interment followed in Pyle Prairie Cemetery.
Cox was born Jan. 30, 1953, in Dallas, to Doris and Sidney Cox and died March 9, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his father, uncle Billy Wilkey, and brother-in-law Gene Janek.
He is survived by his mother; daughters Stacy Wilson and husband Ryan, Kelly Dorn and husband Danny, Brandie Meshell and husband Michael, and Kim Parman; brothers RC Cox and wife Tyra, Sidney Ray Cox and wife Delores; sister Frances Janek; grandchildren Josh Parman and wife Jessica, Ryan Key, Makenzie Wilson, Daniel Dorn, Gabriel Meshell, Clayton Wilson, Brianna Dorn, Rose Meshell, Jaidyn Parman, Gracie Davis, and James Parman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Smith
Graveside services for Mary Nell Smith, 77, of Forney, were held March 10, 2012, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Scurry, with Mary Jo Howard officiating under the direction of Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel in Kemp.
Smith was born Feb. 12, 1935, in Mobile, Ala., and died March 8, 2012.
Smith held positions in the electronic and medical industries, working at Texas Instruments for 24 years.
After retiring from Texas Instruments, she moved to Scurry, attended Trinity Valley Community College and became a LVN, working for Kemp and Mabank nursing homes.
Subsequently, she provided home health care that offered compassionate, individualized care for the terminally ill.
She was a member of the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Mesquite and the New Friendship Church in Mabank.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bill, and daughters Barbara Nell (Bobbye Gee) and Rhonda Gayle Smith.
Survivors include her daughters Deborah Mansfield of Heartland, and Kathy Smith of Huntsville, Ala.; brother Neil Murphy; grandchildren Christy Gardner, Lisa Collins, Jordan Wills, Hunter Palmeri; great-grandchildren Shanae Gardner, Kelsey French, Justus Wills and Sarah, Amanda and Branden Collins; great-great-grandchildren Bradley and Breeanna McClaine, Emily Michelle Collins and KaeLee Rae Green, Brooklynn and Braden Davidson.

Bill Cody
Services for Bill Cody, 76, of Eustace, will be held at a later date.
Cody was born June 1, 1935, in Cameron, Okla., to Viola Schrader and Knox Cody, and died March 9, 2012, at Ridgecrest Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Forney.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, riding in his golf cart every afternoon with his dog Bella and was a family man.
In 1969, he started his own plumbing business, Bill Cody and Sons Plumbing Company, which is now a third generation successful business. He took pride in his business and truly relished his friends.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Ival, Lola and Betty and brothers Claude, Paul, Donald, Eddie, Ralph, and Kenneth.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Shirley Aiken Cody; daughter Kelli Sue; sons Gary Dean and wife Caren of Forney, William Randy and wife Louise of Irving, Stephen Harold and wife Olivia of Rockwall; grandchildren Bradley and wife Leslie, Phillip, Krista and husband Chuck, Audrey, Aaron, and Marissa; great-grandchildren Cameron, Dixie, Konner, Haylie, Billy, Carly, Jacob, Bobbi and Alyssa; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Elaine Rust
Services for Elaine Sarratt Rust, 75, of Mabank, were held March 10, 2012, at Little Bethel Memorial Park in Duncanville under the direction of Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville.
She was born Aug. 29, 1936, in Sulphur Springs and died March 7, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Rust.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Paul Rust; daughters Sherri Simon, Cathy Chapman and husband Tery and Paula Rust; grandchildren Stefanie Anthony, Keith Harry, Kayla Sims and Kelli Simon; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Abigayle, MyKenzie, Kylie, Landon, Logan and Cody; twin brother Dwayne Sarratt; other extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Crohn’s Disease Foundation.

Earlene Berry
Services for Earlene Annette Hoffman Berry, 52, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 (today) at Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home in Kemp.
Berry was born Jan. 25, 1960, in Seminole, Okla., to Bonnie and Earl D. Hoffman and died March 10, 2012, in Kemp.
Earlene loved her children dearly and her granddaughter lit up her world. She loved jogging, playing with her children, traveling, angels, bears, arts and crafts and reading.
She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Michael Berry, husband of 10 and a half years, Theadore P. Berry and her mother.
Survivors include her son, John Halsell Berry; daughter Margaret (Meg) Hoffman Berry; granddaughter Amylee Ann Berry; her father; sisters Neva Jo Tankursley, LuDene Rodgers, and Cheryl Sullivan; several nephews.

Debra Hart
Services for Debra Jean Hart, 50, will be held at a later date.
Hart was born Nov. 15, 1961, in Lincoln, Neb., to Leona Bernice Dooley and George Henry Hart and died March 10, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Kenyon and sister Ruby Hart.
Survivors include her son, Taylor Kenyon, of Gun Barrel City; sister Gertrude Hart and husband George of Irving; half brothers George Hart Jr., Billy Wade Hart, Charles David Lloyd Apland, Golda Apland and Richard Apland; half sisters Joyce Marie Jordan and Illena Seuttart; many other family members and friends.
