Services for Chris G. Anderson, 42, Gun Barrel City, were held March 12, 2008, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Brent Tucker officiating. Burial was in Cedar Creek Memorial Park under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Anderson was born May 12, 1965, in Dallas and died March 8, 2008, in Gun Barrel City.
Previously of Irving, he had resided in Gun Barrel City for the past seven years and was of the Baptist faith. He was a Christian who prayed and read his Bible daily. He was a Realtor at Excite Realty and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his parents Gailya and Gaylord Anderson, Gun Barrel City; daughter Katelynn Anderson, Dallas; sister Holly Gilmore, Gun Barrel City; nephew Brad Gilmore, Gun Barrel City; other family members and many friends.
Pallbearers were B.G. Pierce, Tom Chapman, Richard Smith, Allan McMenamy, Geryl Mortensen and John Fosque.
Services for Marjorie Elizabeth Bassett Leeman, 77, Houston, were held March 13, 2008, at Guadalupe Funeral Home in Houston.
Leeman was born Jan. 21, 1931, in Palestine to Bobbie Kiensiel and Johnny Bassett and died March 10, 2008, in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Fannie and John Bassett, husband Eddie Leeman and daughter Nancy Kay Otto Crowley.
She was affectionately known by those who loved her as “Lady Bug.” She graduated from Palestine High School and was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include her sons Walter Fred Otto Jr., Houston; and Terry and wife Susan Otto, Houston; nine grandchildren; sisters Charlotte Whitaker and Elizabeth Mason, Palestine; and niece Sheila Carter, Mabank; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
