Services for Luther Monroe Southard, 73, Kemp, were held March 14, 2007, at Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points with Bro. James Ragsdale officiating. Interment followed in King Cemetery.
Southard was born April 23, 1933, in Tredway to the late Monroe and Virginia Southard and died March 11, 2007, in Kaufman. He was preceded in death by his wife Cathy Lynn.
He was a retired brick mason.
Survivors include his sons Douglas and wife Shannon Kemp, Gun Barrel City; and Luke and Rene Southard, San Antonio; sisters Juanita and Ignacio Leos, Mabank; Essie and Johnny Ragsdale, Hobbs, N.M.; Dorothy and Alvis Howell, Spokane, Wash.; brothers Vernon Southard, Jim and Wanda Southard, Verrin; grandsons Mason Kemp, Konner Kemp and Brody Southard.
Jack White Sr.
A private memorial service for Jack D. White, 74, Dallas, will be held at a later date, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
White was born April 24, 1932, in Taylersville, Miss. and died March 13, 2007, in Plano.
He lived in the Cedar Creek Lake area for 15 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed in maintenance.
Survivors include his sons Steve White, Red Oak; Bobby White, Payne Springs; Rex White, Red Oak; and Jack White Jr., Red Oak; daughters Carolyn Hicks and husband Michael, Dallas; and Susan Muehl and husband Harvey, Vernon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Dale White and wife Wanda, Gun Barrel City; sisters Pauline Yerverton and Hilmer Parker, both of Mississippi; nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
