Malakoff Boosters set tourney
Special to The Monitor
MALAKOFF–The Malakoff Athletic Booster annual scholarship golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at the Indian Oaks Golf Course in Peeltown.
“If you’re a golfer, you won’t want to miss this tourney,” Booster Club president Tim Samples said. “It is a fun four-man scramble, with good food.
“Most importantly, all money raised will support scholarships for deserving Malakoff ISD athletes,” Samples pointed out.
Registration begins at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 2 p.m.
“Prior to start of the tournament, we will have contests, including a bulls-eye,” Samples said. “The tournament will also award prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive.”
Various sponsorship packages are still available – interested sponsors may contact Samples for package opportunities. The cost for a four-man team is $150, which includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch and awards.
“We are anticipating a successful tournament, but are hoping to exceed our own expectations,” Samples said.
“As adults, players and sponsors, we always have a great day of fun at this tournament,” he added. “We want to continue to raise the level of fun, but also raise money for the kids.
“We know how many students need our help. It is a great responsibility,” he said.
If you are interested in an exclusive sponsorship or entering a four-man team, please contact Samples at (903) 920-8699.
