  Ashley Ward
Services for Ashley Michelle Ward, 26, Mabank, were held Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Mabank with the Revs. L.H. “Hamp” Manning, Danny Cope and John Smith officiating. Burial was held in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank under the direction of Moorhead-Epps Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City.
Ward was born Jan. 10, 1984, in Kaufman to Sonya Ivey and Eric Ward and died March 14, 2010, in Athens.
She was born with Dandy Walker Syndrome, a rare brain malformation. She continually fought through her illnesses here on earth and is now in heaven with a new body and no more pain.
She was preceded in death by her beloved dog Pudge, great-grandparents Lucille and Don Blasingame, Lila Wee and Robert Henry Warren, Jeanette and Wilbor Lee, great-grandfather Shelton Ward, great-grandmother Ledell Lee Spears, great-aunt Lola Mae Walker, Godson Nick Stone and special aunt Sally Gilmore.
She graduated from Mabank High School in 2002, where she was an active member of Future Home-Makers of America, the school choir, student council and vice president of TAFE.
Her senior year she was Principal Mark Albin’s student aide.
She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed football, baseball, basketball and was a big fan of the WWE, meeting several professional wrestlers and other celebrities, including Justin Timberlake, Wayne Newton, John Cena and Pink.
She enjoyed meeting celebrities, collecting many autographs.
She was a loving, caring and giving person who worked with the Angel Tree Program through the Salvation Army and helped her mother with her home day care, “Sony School.”
Survivors include her parents Sonya and Eric Ward, Mabank; sister Amber Kimball and husband Jason, Richardson; nephew Lex Ward Kimball, who she loved like her own; grandparents Emma and Bobby Ward, Larue; and Lila and James Lee, Mesquite; great-grandmother Margie Ward, Paris; special dog and companion Ranger; uncle Brad Ward and wife Anna; aunts Gail Crowe and husband Darren; Sherry Hogle and fiancé Kenneth; Vicki Griffis and husband Sammy; and Shannon Denton and husband Craig; uncles Ron, Jimmy and Lonnie Ivey; cousins Brady Ward, Cody Roof, Karah Gilbert, Blaine and Brooke Crowe, and Zoe and Jake Denton; godmother Lisa Davis; lifelong best friend Crystal Steel, serving in the U.S. Army in Korea; special friends Penny Ralfs, Chester, England; and Brandon Hood, Mabank; numerous friends and family.

Roy Garrison
Services for Roy Edward Garrison, 87, Arlington, (formerly of Eustace), will be held at a later date under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Garrison was born Dec. 16, 1923, to Lillie Leona Gage and “Doc” Edward King Garrison and died Feb. 19, 2010, in Fort Worth after a lengthy illness.
He was preceded in death by parents, wife Betty Garrison, daughter Paula Jean Collier Buckner, brothers James and Albert Garrison and sisters Mary Lee Garrison and Cloma Jean Willis.
Survivors include Billy Edward Garrison, Mabank; Roy Eddie Garrison and wife Dana, Denison; Jessie Albert Garrison, Pottsboro; Ronnie McKinnon and wife Edna Katherine, Murfreesboro, Ark.; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sister Jimmie Doris Glaze, Mesquite; brother Joe Earl Garrison, Duncanville; and a host of friends and family.
