The MLLFA will hold little league signups from 6 to 7 p.m.
Monday and Tuesday, March 19-20, and from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday,
March 22, at the Mabank Alternative School gymnasium.
Boater Education Course
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 05-14 will hold
public boater education courses at the flotilla headquarters
located at 1908 Island Circle in Tool (near the entrance to
Don’s Port Marina).
There will be eight dates offered throughout the year, with the
first being at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24. The cost of the
course is $35.
The course will also be offered April 28, May 26, June 23, July
28, August 25, Sept. 22 and Oct. 27.

CCL Rotary Golf Tournament
The ninth annual Cedar Creek Lake Spring 2012 Golf Tournament
will be held Friday, April 20, at Kings Creek Country Club.
The cost is $60 a person in advance and $65 at the door. The
format is a four-man scramble with tee time at noon.
Cash prizes totaling $800 for first, second and lucky team will
be awarded. Multiple other prizes will be awarded, including
men’s and women’s longest drive and closest to the pin. The
hole-in-one prize will be provided by Tri-County Ford.

takes seventh in state

CORPUS CHRISTI–Eustace Lady Bulldog powerlifter Casey Bramblitt
took seventh place in the state powerlifting meet in Corpus
She lifted an impressive 785 pounds, which is 50 pounds more
than she lifted just two weeks ago at the regional meet in
Bramblitt squated 315 pounds, benched 155 pounds and dead-lifted
“She will be working hard all year for first place in 2013,”
head powerlifting coach Rich Risner said. “I want a ring,”
“She is relentless, her training has, and will continue to,
increase with intensity,” Risner commented.
With her “I shalt not flag nor fail” attitude, there is no doubt
she can win it all next year.
As she finishes the year with track and a consistent weight
training regimen, she also pitches for the softball team which
is currently 2-0 in the district standings.
Bramblitt has also been chosen, along with other top students
among the state, to attend a leadership camp at Texas A&M March
Kemp, Eustace compete at Old
Brickyard in Ferris

FERRIS–The Kemp Yellowjacket and the Eustace Bulldog golf teams
competed at the Old Brickyard Golf Course in Ferris March 19.
“Things went pretty well considering the conditions,” Kemp head
golf coach Cody Ross said. “The winds were steady all day at
25-30 mph with even higher gusts.”
The Kemp Yellowjackets finished fourth overall as a team in a
field of teams including Kaufman, Sunnyvale, Malakoff,
Fairfield, Mildred, Palmer, Ferris, Crandall and Eustace.
Yellowjackets competing included Josh Shipp, Colton Love, Ben
Dillon, Jesse Hall and Hayden Bruce. Hall finished fifth overall
with a score of 81.
Lady Yellowjacket Lauren Baumgartner also competed individually
and shot 123.
The Yellowjackets have added a tournament to its schedule. They
will compete in the Kaufman tournament to be held at King’s
Creek Country Club Thursday, March 29.
The Eustace Bulldogs also competed at the Old Brickyard. “The
kids powered through the wind at Old Brickyard in Ferris,”
Eustace head golf coach Adrienne Gautreaux-McDonald said.
Cody Penwarden shot 103, Clay McKinney shot 115, Preston
Schwartz shot 127, Dylan Worrell shot 128 and Jonah Johnson shot
The Kaufman Lions took second place in Ferris.
The Eustace Bulldogs will also compete at King’s Creek March 29.
