Sports Highlights

Bramblitt takes seventh in state
Monitor Staff Reports
CORPUS CHRISTI–Eustace Lady Bulldog powerlifter Casey Bramblitt took seventh place in the state powerlifting meet in Corpus Christi Friday.
She lifted an impressive 785 pounds, which is 50 pounds more than she lifted just two weeks ago at the regional meet in Canton.
Bramblitt squated 315 pounds, benched 155 pounds and dead-lifted 315.
“She will be working hard all year for first place in 2013,” head powerlifting coach Rich Risner said. “I want a ring,” Bramblitt exclaimed.
“She is relentless, her training has, and will continue to, increase with intensity,” Risner commented.
With her “I shalt not flag nor fail” attitude, there is no doubt she can win it all next year.
As she finishes the year with track and a consistent weight training regimen, she also pitches for the softball team which is currently 2-0 in the district standings.
Bramblitt has also been chosen, along with other top students among the state, to attend a leadership camp at Texas A&M March 23.
