Judith Ann Hertz
Services for Judith Ann Hertz, 40, Murchison, were held March 24, 2009,
at the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens. Interment was in Jennings
Mountain Cemetery in Brownsboro.
Hertz was born Aug. 20, 1968, in San Antonio and died March 19, 2009, in
Murchison.
She had been a resident of Murchison for 15 years. Being extraordinary
in motivational skills, she was respected professionally as a speaker,
teacher and trainer in the work force.
She was most recently employed at Solar Turbine in Mabank. A loving
mother with a heart of gold, she loved laughter, singing, watching
movies, quilting, fishing, hunting and was an avid animal lover.
Survivors include her sons Nathan Cochran and Johnathan Rhoads, both of
Murchison; daughter DeAnna Rhoads, Conyers, Ga.; parents Karen and
Michael Hertz, Ingleside; biological father Chris Jones, maternal
grandmother Helen Engel, paternal grandmother Adalaide Brown, both of
San Antonio; brothers and sister-in-law Steven and Andrea Hertz, Euless;
and James Jones, Rainer, Wash.; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,
cousins and other brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and a host of
wonderful friends.
Pallbearers were Nathan Cochran, Johnathan Rhoads, Steven Hertz, Billy
Whitehead, Will Smith, Richard Pride and Darlene Redclift.
Honorary pallbearers were Keith Rhoads, James Jones, Jack Jones, Skip
Jones and Michael Hertz.

Betty Jean Beck
Services for Betty Jean Beck, 78, Payne Springs, were held March 22,
2009, at the Mabank Church of Christ with Robert Clamon officiating.
Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Moorhead-Epps
Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City.
Beck was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Checotah, Okla., and died March 20, 2009,
in Mabank.
She was preceded in death by her father Roy Pierce in 1978, and her
mother Florence in 1999.
She lived in Payne Springs the last 40 years of her life.
She and her husband Harold retired as co-owners of Baywood Self Storage
and Boat Stalls. She was a member of the Mabank Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years and high school sweetheart
Harold; sons Robert and daughter-in-law Maxine, Lake Arrowhead, Calif.;
David and daughter-in-law Sherry, Mabank; Patrick and daughter-in-law
Kelly, Payne Springs; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;
sisters Bobbie Ruth Duffield, Jefferson; and Jean Rocovtis, Lake Havasu,
Ariz.; brothers Roy Junior Pierce, Phelan, Calif.; and Donold Pierce,
Gun Barrel City; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
Pallbearers were Joe Agnes, Norman Thomas, Wayne Estep, Walter McMillen,
Larry Clamon and Bill Dyer.
