MABANK–The Mabank ISD Board of Trustees met March 23 to
discuss and vote on several major proposals.
The board unanimously voted to renew the financial advisory
agreement with Southwest Securities to save $3.5 M. The bond
will be executed in May and authorizes the issuance of
unlimited tax refunding bonds and the execution of a bond
purchase contract and an escrow agreement.
Members also unanimously voted for the North Central Texas
Council of Governments Clean School Bus Grant Application.
The $90,000 bus grant would fund 50 percent of the purchase
of three new buses for 2012-13. Mabank ISD has not purchased
new buses in more than three years. Five of the current
buses have been refurbished or repowered. The cost to
repower one bus is about $12,000.
