Ruth Staples
Services for Ruth Staples, 90, of Arlington, will be held at a later date.
Staples was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Gorham, Kan., to Euna and Loren Mendell
and died March 24, 2012.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Jodie. She was an
artist, making crafts and jewelry from rocks.
She also enjoyed working her “42” puzzle books. She graduated from W. W.
Wilson High School in Dallas and worked as a clerk at the Dallas Times
Herald newspaper for 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Christopher, brother Loren
Mendell Jr. and sister Charlene Cole.
Survivors include her sons, Ron Staples and his wife, Bonita and Kirby
Staples and wife Sherry all of Arlington; four grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; many other family and friends.

Lorene Cheshier
Services for Lorene Cheshier, 97, of Tool were held March 31, 2012, at
Wheatland Cemetery.
Cheshier was born March 6, 1915, in Desoto to Aubrey and Callie Shelby and
died peacefully March 28, 2012.
She helped many families make fond memories as the owner and operator of the
Gun Barrel City Flea Market for more than 25 years. She will be dearly
missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard Cheshier,
brothers; Henry Shelby and Lloyd Shelby, her sister Stella Mae Pelt and her
son-in-law Kirby Eberhart.
She is survived by son W.D. Cheshier and his wife Flora of Palestine,
daughters; Jean Eberhart of Dallas, Bonnie Parker and her husband Larry of
Tool, Wanda Keener and husband Michael of Ben Wheeler, 10 grandchildren, 18
great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, brother Roland Shelby
of Gun Barrel City, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many
friends.

Micky Ellis
Services for Micky Lee Ellis, 19, of Murchison, were held March 31, 2012, at
Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points with Bro. Billy Brown officiating.
Interment followed at King Cemetery.
Ellis was born May 22, 1992, in Dallas, to Patty Turner and Richard Ellis
and died March 26, 2012.
He was a senior at Brownsboro High School.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers Charles Allen and Wesley Turner
and grandmother Laura Ellis.
Survivors include his father, Richard Ellis and wife Judy of Dallas; mother
Patty Lancaster and husband Michael of Murchison; brothers Donny Ellis and
wife Heather of Kemp, Alan Ellis and wife Brittany Salvato of Groesbeck, and
Scotty Lancaster of Georgia; sister Taylor Lancaster of Tyler; grandmothers
Loretta Allen of Seven Points, Julia Jordan of Dallas; grandfather Don Ellis
of Cross Roads; nephews Christopher and Charles Ellis, Tanner Flores; nieces
Chelsea Ellis and Amber Lancaster; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and
many friends.

Garrett Sullivan
Services for Garrett E. Sullivan, 14, were held March 30, 2012, the First
Baptist Church of Tool.
Sullivan was born July 7, 1997, to Paula Putman and Greg Eugene Sullivan.
He was a freshman at Malakoff High School and enjoyed playing percussion and
guitar. He was an outdoor enthusiast who loved to hunt; he was always ready
for any hunting season.
Survivors include his father, of Tool; mother Paula Conner of Lewisville;
brother Cole Patrick Conner of Tool; grandmother Bonnie Sullivan of Tool;
grandparents Rosalyn and Phil Ware of Lewisville; aunt and uncle Gail and
Mark Sullivan of Tool; cousin Chancz Sullivan of Tool.
