Louise Berry
Services for Louise Berry, 86, were held March 30, 2011, at the Moorhead
Epps Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Leonard Eason officiating.
She was born Dec. 23, 1924, in Denison to Ruby Rachel and James Poe and died
March 27, 2011, at her home of 40 years.
One of Berry’s favorite pastimes was playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Albert Eugene Browder and
Gary Wayne Browder.
Survivors include daughters Jonnie Lou Stanley and husband Scott; and Janie
Shaw; son Jimmy Shaw and wife Denise; daughter-in-law Jean Browder;
grandchildren Bessie, Ricky and Billy Wayne and John Browder; Robert Toombs,
Kim Markowitz, Olen Ray and Jason Jackson; Sabrina, J.T., Robert and Ryan
Shaw; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; numerous other
family members and many friends.
Donald Blackard
Services for Donald “Don” Wayne Blackard, 62, were held March 27, 2011, at
Moorhead Epps Memorial Chapel in Gun Barrel City.
He was born Sept. 22, 1948, in Haskell to Hilda Florine Graham and Jeff L.
Blackard and died on March 25, 2011, in Tyler.
Blackard always said, “Given enough time and money, I can fix anything.”
Among many of his interests were racing, listening to talk radio and working
in his shop.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Kristy Altman Blackard; children
Brandie Kirksey and husband Paul; Kristilen Blackard, Keesha Fullington and
husband James; brother Jay Blackard and wife Julie; mother Hilda Blackard;
five grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
Joan Baxter
Graveside services for Joan Baxter, 73, Kerens, were held April 1, 2011, in
the Kerens Cemetery with Rev. Wes Johnson officiating.
She was born Jan. 10, 1938, in Mt. Calm to Gladys Armstrong and Forrest W.
Statham and died March 27, 2011.
Baxter was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Dr. John Updegrove, his staff and
Home Health Services of Corsicana.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Valerie Holmes.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Don M. Baxter, Kerens; daughter
Kellye Elizabeth Cook Thompson and husband Tommy, Castroville; grandson
Taylor Thompson; Castroville; brothers Olin Statham, Kerens; Bill Statham
and wife Eleanor, Pursley; sister-in-law Janis Blissett and husband Bubba;
Kerens; lifelong friends Peggy Harwell, Roane; Dorothy Standfield;
Charlotte; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. |
