Highlights Lady Panthers win, advance
in playoffs

MABANK–The Mabank Lady Panthers got a big, 4-1, win over
Texarkana Pleasant Grove Wednesday to advance to the sectional
round of the girls soccer playoffs.
The game began Tuesday, but severe storms rolled through and
stopped the game. The game was continued Wednesday.
All the points in the game were scored Tuesday.
Lady Panther Savannah Henderson scored three goals and Ashton
Norman added one goal.
The win gives Mabank a 22-6-1 season record, and advanced them
to face the Hallsville Lady Bobcats Friday in Mabank.
“We didn’t play our best game,” Mabank lady Panther Jeff Downs
said. “But we did what was needed to win.”
The Hallsville Lady Bobcats won Tuesday’s playoff game against
the Texas Lady Tigers, 4-2.
District 13-3A golf tourney
underway

DALLAS–The District 13-3A golf tournament is underway.
The first round was held April 2, at Cedar Crest Golf Course in
Dallas.
Currently, the Mabank Panther boys are in first place, with the
Kaufman Lion boys in second and the Kemp Yellowjackets in third.
Kemp Yellowjacket Josh Shipp finished in in the top five with an
84.
Jesse Hall is in the top 10 with a 91.
Round two of the tournament is set for April 9 at the Mesquite
Municipal Golf Course.
