‘Modesty and thrift’ themes unique home style show
Special to The Monitor

MABANK–Debra and Dennis Thomas/Clay Structures hosted the second annual Modesty Style Show May 1 at their home.
Models ranging in age from 8 to 20 presented clothing chosen especially for them from the Goodwill Industries Retail Stores, primarily in the East Texas region.
The girls were reminded of the importance of dressing modestly, being good stewards with their money and helping those in need.

Each girl demonstrated how modesty and style work together.
Once again, a live band provided the musical backdrop to the style show. “Rolled Stone” with lead guitarist Zak Tharp, a sophomore at Martin’s Mill High School and drummer Clark Watters, a senior at Martin’s Mill High School did a superb job of setting the scene with music.
Very special guest Stephanie White, manager of the Mabank Goodwill, said she enjoyed the show. She also gave an informative presentation about the origin of Goodwill Industries.
Another new feature of this year’s Modesty Style Show was addition of escorts.
Seth Grimes, Chandler Osborne, Will Beck, Caleb Lowry, Cole Drummond, James Burkhalter, and Nolan Duncan all did a fine job of making the girls feel extra special. The gentlemen were also wearing clothing purchased from Goodwill.
Show coordinators Debbie Thomas and Jana Grimes, who also serve as Bible teachers to most of the girls at the Mabank Church of Christ, thank the girls, their escorts and band members for their participation and for making the Modesty Style Show memorable.
