Mary K. Shewchuk
A memorial service for Mary Katherine Shewchuk, 95, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday (today), May 16, 2010, at the Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Mary was born July 5, 1914, to Rose and Matthew Fassino in Ladd, Ill.
She graduated from Loyola University in Chicago with a degree in nursing.
She was head nurse at Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children in Chicago, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Anthony and Michael Shewchuk, her husband of 63 years.
She is survived by her son, Michael Nicholas Shewchuk and wife Connie; and daughter Judith Ann Sullivan and husband John, all of Mabank.
Also, her grandchildren Lynn Shewchuk, Lori Ciccarello and husband Mark; Michael Sullivan and wife DeLyn and David Sullivan and wife Staci.
Also, her eight great-grandchildren, who called her “Noni,” Zachery Pease, Nicholas and Christian Ciccarello, Jake, Will, Alli, Cole and Luke Sullivan.
A funeral mass and Catholic burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Mt. Dora, Fla., Tuesday, May 18, 2010.

Karon C. Gatlin
A memorial service will be held at a later date for Karon C. Gatlin, 57, Athens, under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home, Seven Points.
Gatlin was born Nov. 14, 1952, in Cross Roads and died May 10, 2010, in Athens at the East Texas Medical Center.
Gatlin was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Airheart.
She was a carpenter by trade.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Airheart; daughters Angie and husband Kevin Chandler Milsap and Brandy Gatlin; son Joshua Gatlin; brothers Larry and Dennis Clark; sisters Donna Clark, Joyce Tidwell and Janet Clark; and four grandchildren.
