Mary Merimon
Services for Mary Helen Merimon, 64, Gun Barrel City, were held May 15,
2011, at Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank with the Rev. Robert Brown
officiating. Interment followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank, under the
direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
She was born Aug. 2, 1946, in Palestine to Ruby Grace Murdock and Charles
Edward Hunt and died May 12, 2011, in Tyler.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also
had a servant’s heart.
Merimon was married to Lee Roy Merimon and was a resident of Gun Barrel City
for more than 30 years.
She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Terry DeWayne Merimon; brother
Larry Wayne Hunt; sister Linda Jean Hunt; grandson Jason Watts and
great-grandson Landon Reznicek.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Roy Merimon, Gun Barrel City; son Gary
Merimon and wife Rebecca, Allen; daughters Cathy Watts and husband DeWayne,
Crandall; Sherrie Marini and husband Philip, Forney; grandchildren Tonya,
Kristin, Brandi, Robbi, Amber, Joshua, Tyler, Austin and Alek;
great-grandchildren Taylor, Tatum, Phoenix, Addison and Tino; brother Jerry
Dean Hunt, Grand Prairie; nieces, nephews, other family members and many
friends.
Pallbearers were Gary Merimon, Phil Merimon, DeWayne Watts, Jesse Skole,
Austin Merimon, Joshua Marini and Larry Hunt.
Dorothy Barr
Services for Dorothy Rae Barr, 85, was held May 18, 2011, at the St. Jude
Catholic Church, with Father Bernard Botju officiating. Interment followed
at the Oaklawn Cemetery, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral
Home in Mabank.
Barr was born Oct. 12, 1925, in Dallas to Eugenia Bradley and Homer Lee
Taylor and died May 13, 2011, in Tool.
Her life was built around her family for whom she cared and loved.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post No. 4376 in Seven Points.
Barr was Catholic in faith and attended St. Jude Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Paskel Barr,
sister Gladys Bates and brothers Homer and Rembert Taylor.
Survivors include sons Robert Barr and wife Cheryl; Michael Barr and wife
Shirley; daughter Deborah Brazier and husband Peter; grandchildren Robert P.
Barr, Dina Cox and husband Brian, Robin Williams, Michele Wilson and husband
Danny, Michael Barr and wife Jennifer; Nichole Webb and husband Kelly;
great-grandchildren Corey and Kaitlin Cox, Charlie and Evan Williams, Kesley
Barr, Daniel, Dustin and Dylan Wilson and baby Webb; brothers Buck Taylor,
Leroy Stevens and Jerry Foster; sister Eugenia Johnson; numerous nieces and
nephews and other family members.
