Services for Elbert Eugene “Gene” Jackson, 80, of Grand Prairie, were
held May 19, in the Eubank Memorial Chapel with Art Harkins officiating.
Interment will follow in the Payne Springs Cemetery under the direction of
the Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home.
Jackson was born April 21, 1932, in Eustace, to Ora Estelle Isom and Thomas
Jackson and died May 13, 2012, in Dallas.
He was Christian by faith and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was a car salesman and the number one salesman in Dallas in the 1960s.
He loved his family, being a good salesman and being out in the country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Delbert Deen, brothers
T.L. and Eldon Jackson, sisters Pauline Johnson and Wreetha Fay Roberson and
grandchild Cory Eugene Mitchell.
Survivors include his daughter, Debra L. Mitchell and husband Robert of
Grand Prairie; stepdaughter Tonya Nelson and husband Alan of The Colony;
stepson David Wallace and wife Tammie of Gulfport Miss.; brother Leon
Jackson of Kaufman; 10 grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; one
great-grandchild; and other family members and many friends.
Pallbearers included Justin, Trey and Race Mitchell, Matt and Nolan Wallace
and Danny Joe Miller.
