Bill Brubaker
Memorial services for Bill Brubaker, 78, Payne Springs, are scheduled
for 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at the Four Mile Lutheran Church in
Prairieville with Tammy Mast officiating. Burial will be in Four Mile
Cemetery under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home in Van.
Brubaker was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Canfield, Ohio, to the late
Elizabeth and Russell Clarence Brubaker and died May 25, 2009, at his
home.
He was preceded in death by his son Russell “Buddy” Brubaker and wife
Georgia Helen Kadlecek Brubaker.
He had lived in Payne Springs about nine years, moving from Corpus
Christi. He served in the U.S. Air Force, earning the National Defense
Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He was a member of Four Mile Lutheran Church and had retired as a
firefighter for the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi. He was a
lifetime truck driver at heart.
Survivors include his sons Donald Dean Brubaker and wife Wilma; William
Gene Brubaker and wife Susan; and Ernest Allen Brubaker; daughters
Dianne Lynne Brubaker; Dixie Leah Brubaker and Tammy Elaine Mast and
husband Timothe; grandchildren Katie, Cheri, Lorri, DeAnna, Janice,
Aaron, Steve, Katrin, Kari and Kassandra; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Brubaker, Billy Brubaker, Timothe Mast
and Ernie Brubaker.
