CEDAR CREEK LAKE–The Tyler Morning Telegraph listed 11 Cedar Creek Lake area players on its girls and boys All-East Texas soccer teams.
The All-East Texas girls team was announced in the Tyler paper’s Saturday edition, with the boys team following in the Sunday edition.
Eustace junior Lindsey Pate was the highest-ranked of the 11 local athletes, as she was listed on the All-East Texas girls second team. Pate was named the District 31-4A co-Defensive Player of the Year by district coaches in March.
First-team girls selections were dominated by Tyler Lee (three players, including Player of the Year Johna Germany), Pine Tree (three players, including Newcomer of the Year freshman Amanda Wallin), T.K. Gorman (two players), Grace Community (two players and Coach of the Year Mitch Smith) and Longview (two players).
Joining Pate on the second team were players from Lee, Pine Tree, Longview, Chapel Hill, Gorman and All Saints.
Fifteen teams were represented on the girls Honorable Mention list.
Eustace players selected included Chelsea Grimes and Shelby Stegent, joined by Mabank players Natalie Torres, Jesse Toms and Ashton Norman.
On the boys side, all of the local players listed were on the Honorable Mention listing, which included players from 16 teams.
