Beverly Trahan
A memorial service for Beverly Ann Landry Trahan, 69, LaBelle, was held
May 30, 2009, at the Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur.
Cremation took place at Haven of Rest Crematory in China, Texas.
Trahan was born Oct. 30, 1939, in Port Arthur to Lena Eve Rouly and
Eursin Landry and died May 27, 2009, at Hermann Memorial Baptist
Hospital in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She had lived in the Port Arthur and LaBelle area all her life and was a
self-employed bookkeeper.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting as well as dancing. She
enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Greg Trahan Sr., Tony Trahan, both of
Fannett; and Sabrina Cardenas and husband Glenn Cardenas, Eustace;
brother Ron Landry, Galveston; 10 grandchildren and three great-granddchildren.
Mary Baskerville
Services for Mary Baskerville, 87, Gun Barrel City, will be held at a
later date under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in
Mabank.
Baskerville was born Aug. 13, 1921, in Texarkana and died May 21, 2009,
in Gun Barrel City.
She graduated from the Methodist School of Nursing and served in the
U.S. Army Nurse Corps for three years, mostly in Saipan and New Caldonia.
She supervised the operating room and recovery room for 30 years at
Methodist Hospital in Dallas.
She then managed the Senior Citizens Center at Lancaster and Elmwood for
eight years.
She retired to Cedar Creek Lake and died at home.
Survivors include her best friend Janice Harrison, Gun Barrel City; and
many other friends.
Geneva Walker
Services for Geneva Eveline Walker, 79, Kemp, were held May 30, 2009, at
the Eubank Chapel with the Revs. Randell Hyde and Lonnie Harris
officiating. Burial was in Morris Cemetery in Van Zandt County under the
direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
Walker was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Scurry to Minnie Cottongain and Henry
Earnest Grubbs and died May 27, 2009, in Kemp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 57 years D.R.
Walker in 2004, and sons Lesley Royce and David Gene Walker.
She was a member of Rock Hill Gospel Church. She enjoyed her church and
family, especially her grandkids.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law Dearoll Wayne and Donna
Walker, Richardson; and Wesley Leon and Tanja Walker, Mesquite; daughter
and son-in-law Joyce and Pablo Chavez, Terrell; sisters Josephine
Crandell, Seagoville; and Pauline Rogers, Waco; brothers Henry Grubbs,
Lone Star; David Grubbs and Oscar Grubbs, both of Jacksonville;
grandchildren Dearoll, Sean, Latracia, David Royce and Wesley Wayne
Walker, Crystal Martin, Denise Lolly, Brandy and Brett Dancer and
Malissa Lovell; great-grandchildren Ashley, Elizabeth, Shawna, Britney,
Dearoll and Shannan Walker, Cameran Brewer, Courtney Waldrop, Breanna
and Beau Dancer and David Lolly; other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Dearoll Walker, Sean Walker, Cameran Brewer, Frederick
Daniel, Michael Martin, Eddy Lolly, Beau Dancer, Richard Walker and
Travis Hudson.
Gayla Groom
Services for Gayla Yvonne Groom, 44, Kemp, were held May 31, 2009, at
the Eubank Memorial Chapel with Greg Groom officiating under the
direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Groom was born July 15, 1964, in Lubbock and died May 26, 2009, in Kemp.
She was a graphic designer.
Survivors include her children J.C. Smith and Allison, New Baltimore,
N.Y.; and Chrystal and Justin Fertitta, Kemp; brother Greg Groom and
wife Sheri, McKinney; grandchildren Donald Shelton; Andrea Como; and
Guythana Fertitta, all of Kemp; parents Allene Smith and husband Stan,
Tyler; Ira Groom and wife Sherrie, Lindale; niece and nephew Kendell
Groom and Shawn Groom.
O.L. Scarbrough Jr.
Services for O.L. “Curtis” Scarbrough Jr., 56, Lindale, were held June
2, 2009, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mike Adalian
officiating. Burial was in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas under the
direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Scarbrough was born May 9, 1953, in Dallas and died May 29, 2009, in
Tyler.
He had lived in Lindale for the last two years and was a mechanic and
veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his son Daniel Wayne Norrell and wife Brandi, Wills
Point; sisters Linda Brocker and husband Ned, Midlothian; Janice
Carnahan and husband Phil, Gun Barrel City; Elizabeth Swadley and
husband Jim, Mabank; and Gina Hansell, Seven Points; adopted sister
Shirley Norrell Dodson, Mesquite; grandchildren Chandy Hope, Alexis
Faith and Daniel Wayne Norrell; stepchildren Danyale Kirstan Roberts,
Dylan Weldon Roberts, Valittle Roberts and Devin Garretson.
Mary Ann Martin
Services for Dr. Mary Ann Martin, 66, Rusk, were held June 1, 2009, at
the Eubank Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Chism officiating. Burial
was in Payne Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral
Home in Mabank.
Martin was born July 25,1942, in Dallas and died May 29, 2009, in
Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Walter Martin.
She was a Doctor of Medicine and self-employed. She retired in the late
1980s. She was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her sons Scott Henderson and wife Tonya, Flower Mound;
and Stan Newton, Plano; brother Larry Martin, Athens; sister Jane
Joplin, Athens; grandchildren Katie, Justin, Hollie and Ryan Henderson,
all of Flower Mound; several nieces, nephews and extended family
members.
Tina Marie Malloy
Services for Tina Marie Malloy, 49, Galveston, were held June 1, 2009,
at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Rick Dees officiating under
the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Malloy was born Jan. 31, 1960, in Palestine and died May 29, 2009, in
Waco.
She was preceded in death by her sister Janice Patton, mother Pinnie
Freeman and nephew Michael Crawford Jr.
She was an office manager and had resided in Galveston for 20 years. She
loved her family, friends and the beach. She had great pride in her
daughters and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters Sarah Malloy, Galveston; and Rebecca
Malloy, Port Arthur; grandchildren Matthew, Jacob, Nicholas, Oliva, Evee,
Alissa and Evan; brothers Forrest Crawford and wife Diana, Palestine;
and Michael Crawford and wife Lisa, Palestine; sister April Huddelston
and Joe McFadden, Texas; father Forrest E. Crawford and wife Sharon
Junell, Palestine.
