Donovan signs with Texas A&M at
Commerce

Kemp High School recent graduate Kate Donovan (seated left), flanked by

Carter, signed a letter of intent to run cross country and track for
Texas A&M University at Commerce Wednesday. Named the KHS “Female
Athlete of the Year” in May, Donovan advanced to state meets in both
cross country and track as a senior. She advanced to regional
competition all four years in cross country, and two years in track. She
also played varsity basketball as a senior. Donovan plans to major in
chemistry, with the aim of becoming a high school chemistry
teacher/coach.

KEMP–The Kemp Athletic Booster Club is
sponsoring the annual Yellowjacket Open and a Texas Hold’em tournament
at the Kings Creek Golf Course Saturday, June 23.
Fee for the scramble tournament is $50 per person, which will include
greens fee, cart and lunch at noon, followed by a 1 p.m. start. There
will be an Open Division and a Coaches Division. Also available are
putting string ($5 per person) and mulligans ($5 each, two maximum).
A barbecue dinner and awards ceremony will follow the conclusion of the
tournament
Hole sponsors are being sought at $100 each. For more information,
