record, turned out for the annual Eustace Pioneer Day 5K run Saturday.

In the horseshoes doubles tournament, the duo of Shane Karnes and Terry
Ball won, with Hill Billy and Aaron Stark second and Rolin Lane and
Eddie Morse taking third.

Though hotly contested, the men's over-70 race still belonged to Walter
Hellebrand
of Payne Springs (left), who recorded a time of 27:14, followed by
Harold Franklin of
Yantis in 32:42 and Murray Forsvall of Dallas coming in third. Betty
Forsvall (not
pictured) took second in the 70-plus female division.

took the first place women's award with a time of 19:33, with Tito
Santoyo, 16,
placing second in his category, while Victor Puente, 15, won the
15-year-old male
division. The event attracted a record turnout of 140 participants.
