Compton gets All-State nod

EUSTACE–May Eustace High School graduate Ryan Compton recently received honorable mention on the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sportswriters Association All-State baseball teams.
A starter at third base, Compton also pitched for the Bulldogs during this past season.
Compton was one of five District 14-3A players listed on the All-State teams published in Sunday’s edition of the Tyler Morning Telegraph.
One district player, Mineola junior Colton Bickerstaff, was named to the All-State second team, as state champion Carthage dominated the first-team selections.
Joining Compton in receiving honorable mention were three Van players – May graduates Chance Cotton (picked as both a pitcher and designated hitter) and shortstop Zach Harrison, along with sophomore outfielder Michael Terry.
