Peggy McLemore Cook
Services for Peggy McLemore Cook, 88, Eustace, were held July 10, 2010, at the Restland
Memorial Cemetery in Dallas, with Danny Denny officiating
Cook was born Jan. 8, 1922, in Beach Creek, Ky., and died July 8, 2010, in Bedford.
She was a member of Payne Springs Baptist Church and Merlw Norman Studio in Mabank, Sweet
Adalines and Care N Share.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Cook; sons Jim Birdsong, Richard Birdsong, Don
Birdsong; daughter Jackie Henegar; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Margaret

Services for Margaret Hazel Ward, 82, Gun Barrel City, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July
19, 2010, at the Liberty Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City with the Rev. Dennis Woods
officiating under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Ward was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Athens and died July 12, 2010, in Gun Barrel City.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence Earl Giles Jr. and Charles Newitt
Ward, brothers Jobe, Jack, Punk and Billy McGee, sisters Lara Mae Lewis, Ruby Trammell and
Lois Jean Corley, granddaughter Jamie Radican and daughter-in-law Rita Giles.
Survivors include her daughters, Edna Earl Dunkin and husband Charles, Terrell; Patricia
Ann Radican, Gun Barrel City; and Sandra Wheeler, Gun Barrel City; sons Raymond Lloyd
Giles and wife Linda, Longview; and Larry Glen Giles, Mabank; 11 grandchildren, 16
great-grandchildren, other family members and many friends.
Mother Pearlie Jenkins
A celebration of the life of Mother Pearlie B. Jenkins, 97, Trinidad, was held July 17,
2010, at the Antioch Baptist Church, 1205 MacAlister Street, Malakoff, with the Revs. Carl
E. Woodard and Corey Jenkins officiating under the direction of Gregory W. Spencer Funeral
Directors.
Jenkins died July 12, 2010.
Most of her family had preceded her in death.
A longtime resident of Trinidad, she was faithful to her Lord, family, church and
community, willing to lend a helping had to whomever she could and did it all with a
loving smile.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Jackie Jackson, Frank Stevenson and wife Ava,
Clearence Brown and wife TLisa, Ronald Brown and wife Cynthia, Elder Billy J. Brown
and wife Charlotte, Lisa Osborne and husband Jerry, Dale Brown and wife Cynthia, several
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Maggie Brown,
sister-in-law Pearl Jenkins, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dorothy McCarty
Dorothy Earlene McCarty, 87, was born Jan. 22, 1923, in Canton to Lydia Viola Rast and
John Wesley Coursey and died July 10, 2010, in Balch Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bass, son Fayne Bass Sr., grandson Fayne
Bass Jr, twin granddaughters (infants) Sandy and Teresa Bass, brothers O.D., John Kenneth,
Lloyd and Leon Coursey.
She resided most of her live in Dallas but spent many weekends at Cedar Creek Lake.
She was a beloved mother and grandmother. She spent her life caring for others at work and
home.
She loved old western movies, playing the guitar and her family.
She enjoyed swimming, dancing and could drive any vehicle ever made.
She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include daughters Reba Blaylock and husband Bennie, Dallas; Brenda Nix and
husband Junior, Kemp; son Jay Bass, Dallas; grandsons Keith Nix and Kevin Bass;
granddaughters Dori Stutsman and husband Robert, Kim Wilcox and husband Bret. Karen Bass,
Kelly Bass, Jerrie Blaylock, Tina Stovall and husband Shon, Niki Blaylock, Tammy Jenkins,
Keisha Farnham and husband Chad, Wendy Ball, and Jaye Anna Covey and husband Mitchell, 30
great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and
friends.
Vera Felker
Services for Vera Claudean Felker, 91, Gun Barrel City, were held July 15, 2010, at the
First United Methodist Church in Mabank with the Rev. Gary Reagan officiating. Burial was
in Roselawn Memorial Park in Seagoville under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral
Home in Mabank.
Felker was born Dec. 8, 1918, in Bailey and died July 12, 2010, in Mabank.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 56 years, Aubrey Needham
Felker.
Survivors include her daughter, Martha Pearman, Gun Barrel City; grandsons Doug Pearman
and wife Holly, Monterey, Calif.; and Michael Pearman and wife Cindy, St. Louis, Mo.;
granddaughter Klarissa Pearman, Gladney, Mo.; great-grandchildren Cienna and Hannah
Pearman and Nadine Robby Daniel; extended family, nieces, nephews and friends.
Lee Roy Dunn
Services for Lee Roy Dunn, 71, Kemp, were held July 15, 2010, at the New Chatfield
Cemetery with Brother Thomas Eason officiating under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral
Home in Seven Points.
Dunn was born Sept. 15, 1938, in Boon Hill, Ark. to Hattie Davis and Rogers Dunn and died
July 13, 2010, in Kemp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Edward Dunn, three sisters and a brother.
He was a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife, Karon Dunn, Kemp; sons Alvin Bullard and wife Beth,
Carrollton; Calvin Bullard and wife Marilyn, Corsicana; Tommy Dunn and wife Sinthia, Kemp;
daughter Deborah Cummins, Venus; brother Walter Lee Trussell, DeWitt, Ark.; seven
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. |
