Rodney Smith
Services for Rodney Smith, 41, Kemp, were held July 19, 2009, at the Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp. Interment was in Shiloh Cemetery.
Smith was born Nov. 17, 1967, in Mabank and died July 13, 2009, in Seagoville.
He is preceded in death by his father John Cravey and his grandfather J.T. Smith.
Survivors include his mother Shirley “Pearl” and Tony Hogue, Kemp; grandmother Beulah Smith, Kemp; sisters Denice Darby and husband Chad, Kemp; and Carrie Wilson, Prairieville; brother John Cravey II, Eustace; daughters Brook Smith, Kemp; and Darby Smith, Eustace; niece Kayla Darby, Kemp; nephew Kross Darby, Kemp; numerous aunts, uncles, family and friends.

William Emmett
Services for William “Bill” Emmett, 84, Gun Barrel City, were held July 29, 2009, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Denny Burris officiating. Interment was in Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Emmett was born July 18, 1925, in Adamason, Okla., and died July 26, 2009, in Gun Barrel City.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marie and Cecil Emmett and brothers Jerry, James and Robert Emmett.
He graduated from Dallas Technical High School in 1943, and joined the U.S. Navy as an autopilot specialist, serving during World War II.
He formerly lived in the Dallas area and purchased property in the Cedar Creek Lake area in 1967. He retired from Delta Airlines in 1980 as a pre-flight inspector.
As a hobby, he made hot sauce and founded Gun Barrel Hot Sauce, which he sold to his sister.
He was a Mason for 52 years, a Shriner and member of the Grace Community Church in Mabank. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
Survivors include his wife Francis Emmett, Gun Barrel City; daughter Louann Geisler and husband Jim, Gun Barrel City; sisters Jean Mangum and husband W.J., Little Elm; and Carol Wallace and husband Barry, Farmers Branch; grandchildren Jerry Sadler and wife Linda, Fairview; Donna Sadler, Gun Barrel City; and Tammy Smith and husband Mike, Payne Springs; great-grandchildren Bill Garoutte and Carissa Bowles; great-great-grandchildren Alexis, Brooke, Hanah and Jocelyn Garoutte; nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Jerry Sadler, Bill Garoutte, Mike Smith, Jim Geisler and Roger Mangum.

Mary Louise Fugate
Services for Mary Louise Fugate, 79, Rockwall, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Steele officiating. Interment will be in Goodgame Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Fugate was born March 6, 1930, in Trinidad and died July 14, 2009, in Rockwall.
Previously of Trinidad, she had resided in Rockwall for the last three years. She retired from AT&T. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
During her 38-year career at Southwestern Bell, then AT&T, she was one of the first women to get a job previously only available to men.
In her later years, what she loved most was being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include sons Hobart Lee Fugate, Seattle, Wash.; and Gregory Keith Fugate, Malakoff; daughters Priscilla Fugate Waters, Houston; and Lee Michelle Vermillian, Rockwall; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Marcha Kelly, LaVernia; brothers Roy Lee McGee, Tyler; and H.L. McGee, Sewanee, Ga.
Pallbearers were Carey James, Zach Walters, Matthew Tiemans, Shawn Buysman and James Henry Shoppe.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association.

Margaret Ann Hood
Services for Margaret Ann Hood, 61, Mabank, will be held at a later date under the direction of Moorhead Epps Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City.
Hood was born April 5, 1948, in Waxahachie and died July 23, 2009, in Mabank.
She was a homemaker and mother to all.
Survivors include her sons Kenny Parks and wife Delina; Frankie Williams and Jerry Williams; daughters Reba Williams and Glenda Parrot; parents Verna B. Kreitz and John Wesley Brown; brothers John Brown and wife Linda and Billy Brown; sisters Sue Stegall and husband Bill and Brenda Overall; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Ronald Murry Sr.
Services for Ronald Eugene Murry Sr., 73, Allen (previously Blue Ridge), were held July 27, 2009, at the Blue Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville.
Murry was born June 7, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Virgie Wooldridge and William Murry and died July 22, 2009, in Allen.
He was a security guard for armored transport. He married Anita Black Murry May 31, 1962, in Dallas.
Survivors include daughters Linda Gray of Balch Springs, Alecia Gray of Trinidad and Terry Conley of Garland; son Ronald E. Murry Jr. of Allen; brothers Bill Barton of Del City, Okla., Henry Murry of Anadarko, Okla., and James Murry of Guthrie, Okla.
