Betty Gentry
Services for Betty Jean Gentry, 76, Mabank, were held Aug. 14, 2009, at
King Cemetery with the Rev. Eston Williams officiating under the
direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Gentry was born April 15, 1933, in Mabank and died Aug. 11, 2009, in
Mabank.
She had resided in Mabank for more than 20 years and was a member of the
Aley United Methodist Church. She retired from Southwestern Bell, as a
line assigner.
Survivors include her sons Doyle Dane Gentry, Seven Points; and Buck
Gentry, Gun Barrel City; daughters Neuheska Gentry Combs, Southlake; and
Carri P. Gentry, Arlington.
A.R. Hunt
A memorial service for A.R. Hunt, 66, Gun Barrel City was held Aug. 29,
2009, at 126 Harbor Drive, Gun Barrel City, under the direction of
Cooper Funeral Home.
Hunt was born Aug. 21, 1943, in Paduga and died Aug. 12, 2009, in
Athens.
He was a diesel mechanic on heavy equipment and was a veteran of the
U.S. Army where he was a medic.
Survivors include his daughters Sharon Hunt Rogers, Carrie Self and
Joyce Hunt; son Bradly Joe Hunt; and six grandchildren.
Franklin Brewer
Graveside services for Franklin James Brewer, 67, Malakoff, were held
Aug. 16, 2009, at the Payne Cemetery with Bro. Dale Leggett officiating
under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff.
Brewer died Aug. 12, 2009, in Athens.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nevra Goodman and Lonnie Brewer,
and brothers Lonnie William Brewer Jr. and Billy Wayne Brewer.
Survivors include his wife Jacqueline Brewer; sons Timothy Allen Brewer,
Log Cabin; Terry Leon Brewer, Log Cabin; James Brewer and Frankie
Brewer; daughters Candace Marie Haley, Log Cabin; Belinda and Tammy;
sisters Marie and husband Joe Wilson; Ann and husband Fred Cheek, Thelma
and husband Tony Wilder; Geraldine “Sissie”, Bethel “Baby”; brothers
Donald and wife Sheryl Brewer, Joe and wife Bridgett Brewer, Roger Dale
Brewer and Felton Lee Brewer.
Bradley Cobb
Services for Bradley Wayne Cobb, 45, were held Aug. 15, 2009, at
Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp.
Cobb was born Aug. 11, 1964, in Dallas to Brenda Lou Massey and Darrell
Lee Cobb, and died Aug. 11, 2009, in Kaufman.
He was preceded in death by his mother Brenda Lou Cobb, sister Charlotte
Rene Cobb Taylor, and stepsister Robin Junell.
Survivors include his children Cory Wayne Sarkisian and Lacy Diane
Sarkisian, both of Kemp; father Skip Cobb and wife Jeraldine, Kemp;
brothers Darrell Leroy “Rusty” Cobb and Timothy Dewayne Cobb, both of
Kemp; stepbrothers Jimmy Deborde, Murchison and Joel Cohn, Seven Points;
stepsister Cathy Anderson, Kemp; numerous other family members and
friends.
Miranda Haas
Services for Miranda “Mandy” Haas, 32, Royse City, were held Aug. 19,
2009, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Jacobs
officiating. Interment was in Cedar Creek Memorial Park under the
direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Haas was born Sept. 24, 1976, in Dallas and died Aug. 14, 2009, in Royse
City.
Previously of Garland, she resided in Royse City and was a homemaker.
She was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband Alvin Haas, Royse City; sons Brandon
Taylor, Royse City; and Skyler Haas; mother Diane Hale, Gun Barrel City;
brother Justin Shoulders and wife Amber, Gun Barrel City; sisters Amy
Vanderlies and husband Mark, Royse City; Misty Allen and husband Joey,
Gun Barrel City; and Heather Hale, Gun Barrel City; and father Glenn
Dean Armstrong.
Pallbearers were Joey Allen, Justin Shaw, Wesley Hargrove and Howard
