  Adele Hamilton
Adele “Grandma” Hamilton was born Aug. 25, 1912, and died Aug. 11, 2008, 14 days shy of her 96th birthday.
She loved the Lord and taught her children to pray and lean on Him.
She was a longtime member of the Mabank Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughters Allene Smith and husband Stan, Tyler; and Florinne Wynn and husband Jack, Mansfield; grandchildren Greg Groom and wife Sheri, McKinney; Gayle Groom, McKinney; Laura Hendrix, Cleveland, Ohio; and Melissa Mimbs, Strongsville, Ohio; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Thurman Smith
Services for Thurman Smith, 92, Kaufman, were held Aug. 22, 2008, at First Missionary Baptist Church in Mabank with the Revs. C.E. Patton and Robert Boone officiating. Interment was in Payne Cemetery under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home in Van.
Thurman was born May 2, 1916, in Meridian to Minnie Maude Hollingsworth and Benjamin Smith and died Aug. 20, 2008, in Kaufman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Marie Wells Smith in 2005, parents, brothers Albert, Hoyt, Roy, Travis and George Smith, sisters Flora, Gladys, Pearl and Lameta.
He had been a resident of Kaufman for 20 years, formerly of Duncanville. He retired from Lone Star Gas in 1978, where he worked as a mechanic. He was a deacon at First Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son Willie T. Smith, Kemp; daughter Mary L. Smith, Kemp; and many cousins.

Kenneth Cline
Services for Kenneth “Chief” Cline, 48, Eustace are under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Cline was born Nov. 19, 1959, in El Paso and died Aug. 19, 2008, in Eustace.
He had resided in Eustace for the past 12 years and was self-employed.
Survivors include his sisters Barbara Scott and Denise Porterfield, both of Crystal Beach; and nephew Brian Scott, Fort Worth.

Tommy McConnell
A private memorial service for Tommy Richard McConnell, 72, Kemp, was held Aug. 17, 2008, in Tyler.
McConnell was born May 21, 1936, in Paris and died Aug. 13, 2008, in Kemp.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet shooting and traveling.
Survivors include his wife Wanda; sons Donald and Cliff; daughters Lisa and Brenda; grandchildren Matthew, Ryan, Charles and Carl; great-grandchildren Shawn and Mikayla; sister Suzanne; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
