Annual ‘Lord’s Acre Golf Tournament’ still taking entries
The First United Methodist Church of Mabank’s “Lord’s Acre Golf Tournament” is still taking entries for the Tuesday, Sept. 6, event at the Cedar Creek Country Club.
An entry fee includes cart, range balls, lunch buffet and guest fee.
Deadline for all submissions is noon Monday, Aug. 29.

TFFC fishing tournament
The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center’s (TFFC) annual Bluegill Family Fishing Tournament will take place Saturday, Sept. 24.
Teams must consist of one adult 18 years of age or older and one child under 18 years of age. Each team can weigh in a maximum of four fish.
All species of sunfish or bream (except largemouth bass) are allowed.
Pre-registration is required. Mailed registration must be received by Wednesday, Sept. 21.
To request a registration form by mail, please call (903) 670-2222.
You may register in person on the day of the event by going to the admissions booth at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center after 7 a.m.
A $15 entry fee per team will be charged. The entry fee includes admission to TFFC.
Fishing will take place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the weigh-in at the Anglers Pavilion at TFFC at 2:30 p.m. For more information or to request an entry form, contact Craig Brooks at (903) 670-2222.

Eustace beats Kemp in three games

KEMP-The visiting Eustace Lady Bulldogs defeated the Kemp Lady Yellowjackets in three games Tuesday, improving their record to 11-7.
In the first game, Eustace took an early lead, but Kemp made a mid-game run to close the gap.

 Eustace regained composure and closed the door on a 25-17 win.
Eustace won a much tighter second game by just two points, 25-23. The Lady Yellowjackets had key hits, and the Lady 'Dogs made some costly errors. In the end, however, Eustace rallied to take the win.
The Eustace girls jumped out early in the third game, and maintained a commanding lead, winning the final set 25-16.
For Eustace, Casey Bramblitt had 12 serve points with three aces in the game to go with five kills.
Catania Grant went on a serving rampage with five aces and seven points on serve. She also had nine kills and one stuff block.

Bethany Strickland scored six points with three ace serves. She also had four kills and two stuff blocks.
Chelsea Oldham had one kill, 15 assists and seven points off service.
Kacie Richards had five points off service with one ace.
Mallory Keeling had four points off service with one ace.
Shelby Stegent had two kills, and Peyton DiBari a point off service.
