Services for Mildred Jean “Millie” McDowell, 63, Kemp, were held Aug. 30, 2007, at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home Chapel in Kemp with the Rev. Dub Henry officiating. Interment was in King Cemetery in the Aley Community, Henderson County.
McDowell was born Oct. 1, 1943, the daughter of the late Opal Williams and Edward Behrens and died Aug. 26, 2007, in Athens.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years Donald McDowell; children D.J. McDowell and Kimberly Nichols; grandchildren Dylan and Destiny and their father Jason Nichols; sisters Linda McBroom, Kathy Keahey and Bonnie Osteen; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
Dillon Wayne Whitworth
Expectant parents Kim and Jeff Whitworth of Kemp grieve the miscarriage of their son Dillon Wayne Whitworth, who was brought forth prematurely at 3:30 a.m. Aug. 10, 2007.
“He will be in our hearts forever,” Kim writes.
He was preceded in death by miscarried sisters Madison Reese and Kallie Reneé Whitworth.
He is survived by his parents and siblings Aspen Whitworth of Kaufman; Ashley Chandler and Brooke Davis of Kemp.
His grandparents are Danny Chandler, Kemp; Tina Johnson, Sherman; and Janie and Roger Wayne Whitworth, Gun Barrel City.
His great-grandparents are Sharon and Cotton Shelton of Kemp, and Grace Huffstettler of Seven Points.
He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
His parents send thanks to everyone for their prayers throughout this pregnancy and loss of their little angel.
“Without friends and family, the healing process would be much harder. Please keep us in your prayers,” Kim and Jeff Whitworth stated.
Memorial services for Jeanes Gilewicz Perkins, 82, Mabank, will be held at a later date in Quanah. Arrangements were made with Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points.
Perkins was born Oct. 18, 1924, in Quanah, the son of the late Ruby and Earl Vaughn Perkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother J.T. Perkins.
Survivors include his wife Greta Sue Perkins; daughters Crystal and husband Ronnie Hamilton, Abarnathy; and Delana and husband Terry Osbourn, Cleburne; and Ionda and husband Tom Shelton, Sunray; son Doy Perkins, Mabank; sister Musette Dowlen, Quanah; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services for Raymond Odell Rorie, 84, Canton, were held Aug. 30, 2007, at the Eubank Chapel in Canton with the Revs. Mark Rorie and Tony Rorie officiating.
Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Houston, Ark.
Rorie was born May 20, 1923, in Daville, Ark., to Cora Agnes Thurston and John Osburn Rorie and died Aug. 27, 2007, in Canton. He was preceded in death by a sister Onabelle Price, daughter Linda Faye Madlock, sons Raymond Lee Rorie and Steve Eugene Rorie, and granddaughter Kayla Madlock.
He was a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines, a strong Christian, soul winner and family man. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Mary Delialah Rorie, Canton; sons Joseph David Rorie and wife Shirley, Deleon; Jimmy Dell Rorie and wife Diane, Gun Barrel City; Larry Dewitt Rorie, Bigelow, Ark.; and Howell Mark Rorie and wife Marcalene, Canton; daughter Pamela Gail Mullin and husband Mitchell, Oklahoma City, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brothers Jesse Daniel Rorie and John Paul Rorie; sisters Ruby Ozelma McMoran, Martha Nell Lupton and Ruth Claypool; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Stevie Ray Rorie, Daniel Morgan Rorie, Alexander DeWitt Rorie and Joshua Alan DeLong.
