Winona Russell
Services for Winona Jean Russell, 76, Mabank, were held Aug. 30, 2010, at the Eubank
Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Jacobs officiating under the direction of Eubank Cedar
Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Russell was born Aug. 1, 1934, in Kannapolis, N.C. and died Aug. 27, 2010, in Mabank.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donnoho.
Previously of Mesquite, she had resided in Mabank since 1997, and was Baptist by faith.
She loved to hunt and fish.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Russell, Mabank; sons Linnie Cook, Houston; and Billy
Cook; daughter Jet Cook, Houston; and several grandchildren.Clyde
Henderson
A memorial service for Clyde Henderson, 95, Gun Barrel City, was held Aug. 28, 2010, at
Moorhead Epps Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City.
Henderson was born Sept. 26, 1914, in Troup and died Aug. 8, 2010, in Gun Barrel City.
He was employed in the service department of a car dealership and was a veteran of the
U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
Survivors include longtime soul companion Joyce Morgan, daughters Carolyn Johnson, Donna
Morgan and husband Charlie; son Tommy Johnson, best friends Cathy Bryant, owner of the
Pitt Grill; and her son Anthony Bryant and wife Jennifer, and daughter Melissa.
Donald Geer
Services for Donald L. Geer, 78, Mabank, were held Aug. 31, 2010, at the Eubank Memorial
Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Cook officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery under the
direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Geer was born Aug. 27, 1932, in Turnertown and died Aug. 29, 2010, in Athens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nina and Lester Geer, brother, Geer and five
sisters.
Previously of Red oak, he had resided in Mabank for the past 29 years.
He retired from the Mabank ISD in 1991 and was Methodist by faith. He was a member of the
Knights of the Squaretable.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Geer, Mabank; son Dennis Wayne Geer, Corinth;
daughters Denise Diann Reese and husband Gene, Payne Springs; and DeAnn Dawnette Earl and
husband Leslie, Roddy; nieces Donna Cook and husband Phillip and their son Austin, Ovilla;
and Jamie Griffit and husband Mike, Allen; five grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren; other family and many loving friends.
Pallbearers were Nicholas Earl, Patrick Weldon, Justin Geer, Leland Field and Jeff
Nottingham. |
