Duncan
Services for John Wayne Duncan, 58, Eustace, were held Sept. 1, 2007, at
Payne Cemetery in Eustace with the Rev. Tim Howard officiating under the
direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Duncan was born Sept. 5, 1948, in Texas City and died Aug. 30, 2007, in
Tyler.
Previously of Trinity, he had resided in Eustace for the past 20 years.
He retired from Embarq Aug. 27. He was a telephone technician and a
veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife Christine Duncan, Eustace; sons Wayne Duncan,
Eustace; and John Duncan and wife Kim, Suffolk, Va.; daughters Rachel
Cox and husband Cody, St. Martin; and Jennifer Duncan, Eustace; sisters
Gwen Toups, Pearland; and Sherry Griffith, San Antonio; grandchildren
Brooklyn, Cody, Jacob and Destiny Duncan.
Floyd
Perkins
Services for Floyd Perkins, 69, Gun Barrel City, were held Sept. 1,
2007, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Eston Williams
officiating. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery under the direction of
Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Perkins was born Nov. 19, 1937, in Waxahachie and died Aug. 30, 2007, in
Gun Barrel City.
Previously of Dallas, he had resided in Gun Barrel City for the past 26
years and retired from J.C. Powell body repair shop in 1983.
Survivors include his wife Carol Perkins, Gun Barrel City; sons John
Floyd Perkins Jr. and wife Sherry, Forney; and Lonny Charles Perkins,
Waxahachie; daughter Sherry Taylor, Mabank; grandchildren Joshua Calvin
Perkins and wife Shannon, McKinney; Tiffany Deptula, McKinney; Amanda
Boss and husband Jason, Mabank; and Jordan Perkins, Forney; and six
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mark Payne, Ray Rodgers, Marty Clary and Jason Boss.
William Vitellaro Jr.
Services for William John Vitellaro, 20, Mabank, will be held Sept. 3,
2007, at Christian Life Center Church in Gun Barrel City. Burial will be
in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral
Home in Mabank.
Vitellaro was born Aug. 23, 1987, in Corsicana and died Aug. 29, 2007,
in Gun Barrel City.
Previously of Redding, Calif., he had resided in Mabank for the past
seven years and graduated from Mabank High School in 2005. He worked for
Lockeridge Priest Plumbing Company.
Survivors include his parents Teresa and William Vitellaro, Mabank;
brothers Michael Vitellaro, Knoxville, Tenn.; Clayton Vitellaro and wife
Katie, Gun Barrel City; and Thomas Vitellaro, Mabank; sisters Janel and
Lisa Vitellaro, Redding, Calif.; and Louann Vitellaro, Walnut Creek,
Calif.; grandparents Jerry Alexander, Leonard; and Thomas Clayton and
wife Angie, Mabank; great-grandfather Thomas Jefferson Clayton, Tool.
Iris Parker
Services for Iris Winona Parker, 78, Mabank, will be held at 10 a.m.
Friday, Sept. 7, in the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Bro. Tim
Kunkle officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories Cemetery.
Parker was born Nov. 13, 1928, in Wills Point, the daughter of late
Linnie Aurora Johnson and Charlie Lee McKinney, and died Sept. 2, 2007,
at her son’s home in Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles McKinney,
sisters Mabel Gay Parker, Rita Bell Parker and Bonnell Page, and her son
Russell Edwin Dalby.
Survivors include her sons James David and wife Vickie Lancaster,
Seagoville; and Steven Charles and wife Joan Lancaster, Dallas; stepson
Michael and wife Brenda Smith, Wills Point; grandchildren Brian, Debbie,
Joanie, Rebekah, Laura, Elisabeth, Stacie, Richard and Sarah; three
great-grandchildren Alex, Chelsey and Jayden; sister Billie and husband
Jimmy Rupe, Boling; sister-in-laws Vera McKinney, Euless; Lola Mae
Roberts, Quinlan; and Mary Lancaster, Quinlan; brother-in-law Lloyd
Lancaster, West Tawakoni; and a host of other relatives.
John Toliver
Services for John Edward “Billy” Toliver, 63, Trinidad, were held Sept.
1, 2007, at the New Hope CME, Malakoff, with the Revs. Nathaniel Carter
and Tyrone Pettiford III officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove
Cemetery in Trinidad under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in
Malakoff.
Toliver was born April 1, 1944, in Kerens to the late Ruthie and Richard
Perkins Toliver and died Aug. 29, 2007, in Athens. He was preceded in
death by a son Kerry Toliver in 1995.
His occupation was with Toliver Tires.
Survivors include his wife Stella Bernice Toliver; sons Kevin and wife
Vivian Toliver, Malakoff; DeSean and wife Toni Garnerway, Kerens; Jason
and wife Karnitha Brown, Malakoff; daughters Denice and husband Byron
Eldridge, Palestine; and Sharla Toliver, Malakoff; son-in-law Larry
Smith, Malakoff; daughter-in-law Tunya Toliver, Gun Barrel City;

Patsy Kennedy
A memorial service for Patsy Kennedy, 67, Gun Barrel City, will be held
at a later date under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home
in Mabank.
Kennedy was born Sept. 30, 1939, in Henderson County and died Sept. 2,
2007, in Gun Barrel City.
Previously of Oak Grove, she had resided in Gun Barrel City for 10 years
and attended Christian Life Center Church. She worked for Tom Thumb Food
Stores in Dallas and surrounding areas. She participated in the Tamarack
Crime Watch.
Survivors include her husband Joe Bob Kennedy, Gun Barrel City;
daughters Vickey Walsh and husband Mike, Garland; and Sheri Bennett and
husband Chris, Covington, La.; brother Bob Briggs, Chester; sister Gail
Carter; grandchildren Brandy Young, Payne Springs; Michael Walsh,
Greenville; and Leslie Teak, Nicholson, Miss.; and four
great-grandchildren.
Velma Duran Bailey
Services for Velma Duran Bailey, 67, Eustace, were held Sept. 2, 2007,
at the Eustace Church of Christ with Minister Don Bentley officiating.
Burial was in Moorehead-Melton Cemetery in Eustace under the direction
of Gordon-Foster-Brown Funeral Home.
Bailey was born Dec. 1, 1939, to Ruth and Roy Lawrence Smith and died
Aug. 31, 2007, in ETMC in Athens.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Joe Duran and brother
Floyd Smith.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and loved God and Jesus with
all her heart. She never met a stranger, she was always friendly to
everyone.
She was a peace officer and married Johnny Bailey Sept. 9, 1996, in
Eustace.
Survivors include her husband Johnny Bailey, Eustace; sisters Patsy
Osborne, Laura Neely and Edna Latson.
Pallbearers were Don Bentley, James Morton, Jim Bailey, Wade Morton,
Jeff Bramblet, Tad Morton and Corey Perkins.
Thomas Byers
Services for Thomas Carl Byers were held Sept. 4, 2007, at Roselawn
Funeral Home with interment at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Byers was born Dec. 16, 1938, in Chicago, Ill. and died Aug. 31, 2007,
in Tyler.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years Patricia E. Byers; sons Michael
T. Byers and wife MahrKay, North Richland Hills; and David P. Byers and
wife Karri, St. Joe, Mich.; daughter Jacqueline Cavitt and husband
Charles, Burleson; stepsons Doughlaw A. Angstead, Dallas; and Daniel L.
Angstead, Garland; stepdaughter Debbi J. Whitehead, Frisco; 12
