Highlights Eustace boys take first at
Tyler meet

TYLERThe Eustace cross country teams competed in Tyler Sept.
10. The Tyler Lee Classic was held at the UT Tyler campus. The
meet had an open division (4A/5A), a 3A division and an under
division, and all the JV were combined in one division.
The varsity boys took first place out of 14 teams and 115
individuals in the 3A and under division.
The Bulldogs were lead by junior Evan Arambula who placed fifth
with a time of 17:09, while Mark Zimmerer was close behind in
seventh place with a time of 17:26.
Ben Huddleston and Michael Yates came in 15th and 16th, and Trey
Russell finished 30th.
The Varsity Girls finished fifth out of 13 teams and 121
individuals in the 3A and under division.
They were lead by sophomores Tarah Herrera who placed seventh
with a time of 12:53 and Meagan Gunter who finished eighth with
a time of 12:55.
Next was Kara Zimmerer who placed 31st, Crystal Garza who
finished 46th, Shelby Stegent who placed 47th, Emily Morton who
placed 64th and Skyler Burks who placed 84th.
The junior varsity boys finished eighth out of 21 teams and 231
individuals in the 5A and under division.
They were lead by junior Jason Ballenger who placed 4th with a
time of 18:20.
Next was Hunter Norris who placed 45th, Ryan Brown who placed
60th, Brandon Hall who placed 73rd, Preston Schwartz who placed
79th, Thomas Henderson who placed 87th and Aaron Shugart placed
179th.
Panther Midgets get win

MABANKThe Mabank Little League Football Associations Panther
Midgets (first and second grades) defeated the Kaufman Lions,
13-0, Saturday at the Lions Stadium.
The developmental team tied Kaufman with a 7-7 score.
The Pee Wee (third and fourth grade) team lost, 7-0, in a
hard-fought game.
The final game of the night was the Panther Little League (fifth
and sixth grade) team falling, 13-0, to Kaufman.
The score was tied, 0-0, at halftime, but the Panthers lost
their grip on the Lions for a loss.
The MLLFA encourages everyone to attend games and support the
Panthers. Game times are as follows:
Midget 4 to 6 p.m.
PeeWee 6 to 8 p.m.
Little League 8 to 10 p.m.

Mabank Lady Panther Shelby Swain tips a hit from a visiting
Canton Lady Eagle. The Mabank girls defeated Canton in four
games Tuesday. Mabank lost the opening game 25-21. The Lady
Panthers then won the next three games 25-17, 25-17 and 25-21.
The win gives Mabank a 16-12 season mark. |
