Vanbuskirk
Memorial services for Janie Vanbuskirk, 60, Kaufman, were held Oct. 2,
2009, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with Dr. Brent Gentzel officiating
under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Vanbuskirk was born Jan. 19, 1949, in Mineral Wells and died Sept. 29,
2009, in Kaufman.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kaufman.
Survivors include her daughters Virginia Ann Patterson and husband Bobby
Gene, Athens; Cindy Irene Galloway and husband Tommy, Crandall; and
Christy Lynn Morse and husband John, Malakoff; grandchildren Katelynn
Morris and Sean Galloway; sister Patricia Ann Callens and husband Joe,
California; other family members and many friends.
Iris Roberts
Memorial services for Iris Joyce Cole-Cornelison Roberts, 77, Gun Barrel
City, were held Oct. 5, 2009, at the First Baptist Church of Eustace
with the Revs. Paul McKinney and Jim Norcross officiating. Interment
followed in Laurel Oaks Cemetery in Mesquite under the direction of
Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Roberts was born April 1, 1932, in Zip City and died Sept. 28, 2009, in
Gun Barrel City.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Scott McDonald, son Clyde Leon
Roberts and parents Thelma Cole and John Burl Cornelison.
Previously of Balch Springs, she had resided in Gun Barrel City for 30
years and was Baptist by faith. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High
School. We will miss our favorite Democrat.
Survivors include her sons John Richard “Ricky” Roberts and wife Sandra,
Gun Barrel City; Dale Roberts and wife Bobbie, Gun Barrel City; and
Wayne Roberts and wife Rosemary “Rosie,” Gun Barrel City; daughters
Janenne Henexson and husband Gary, Gun Barrel City; and Carla McDonald
and husband Jay, Gun Barrel City; grandchildren Crystal Lynn Landtroop
and husband Randy, Gun Barrel City; Amanda Wheeler and husband Mike,
Canton; Wayne Roberts Jr. and companion Jaimie, Gun Barrel City; Ashley
Roberts and husband Alan Scarbrough, Round Rock; John McDonald III and
Dylan McDonald, both of Gun Barrel City; great-grandchildren Matthew and
Morgan Wheeler, Destiny Scarbrough, Kelsey and Kiley Landtroop and
Molinda Freeman.
