Morgan Carter
Funeral services for Morgan Elizabeth Carter, 15, Athens, were scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brent Tucker officiating. Burial followed in the Moorehead-Melton Cemetery in Eustace.
Miss Carter died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, in Dallas.
Morgan was born June 8, 1995, in Palestine and had been a lifelong resident of Athens.
She was a sophomore pinnacle student at Athens High School and member of the drill team.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mabank.
Her grandfather Drew Carter preceded her in death.
Survivors include her mother, Natalie Laney Horton and stepfather Robert, Athens; father Shane Carter and stepmother Natalie, Athens; brother Ty Carter, Athens; stepsisters Kaitlyn and Camryn Pair, Athens; paternal grandparents Janice and Robert Tyner, Athens; maternal grandparents Veda and Allen Holcomb, Palestine; great-grandmother Kathleen Holcomb; step-grandparents Libby and Howard Horton, Mabank.
Pallbearers were Chance Feagins, Todd Nitsche, Michael Shelley, Garrett Nitsche, Duncan Ramsey and Scotty Gilbert.
Honorary pallbearers were Blake Carter and Jake Morgan.

Thurman Morris
Services for Thurman W. Morris, 80, were held Oct. 4, 2010, at the Tomlinson Funeral Home with Jason Ellis officiating. Interment followed in the Tool Cemetery.
Morris was born Oct. 7, 1929, in Rusk County to Velma Spain and Frank Morris and died Sept. 30, 2010, in Athens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Dorothy Parsons.
He was retired as a mechanical tech for Dresser Atlas Co.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Morris; daughters Mary Rich and husband Glenn, Bartlesville, Okla.; and Debbie Badgett and husband Gary, Fort Stockton; brothers Lawrence, Doyle, Donald and Alton Morris; sisters Betty Warlick, Ruby Henderson and Ginny Shank; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ruth Rallis
Services for Ruth Rallis, 76, Eustace, were held Oct. 4, 2010, at the Restland Memorial Park in Dallas with Ken Maddox officiating. Burial was in Restland Memorial Park under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Rallis was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Dallas and died Sept. 29, 2010, in Eustace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Audra and Jimmie Cooper.
Previously of California, she lived in Eustace for the last 12 years and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her brother, Jim Cooper and wife Beth, Allen; aunt Myrtle Jonier, Allen; nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
