Barbara Smith
Services were held for Barbara Sue Smith, 64, on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, in
the Tabernacle at Moorehead-Melton Cemetery in Eustace with Rev. Don Teague
officiating, under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in
Mabank.
Smith was born June 10, 1947, in Dallas and died Oct. 5, 2011, at her
residence in Irving.
She was an avid reader and loved her work, kids, and people in general. She
worked as a cashier for 7-11 for 20 years and was non-denominational in
faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include husband Walter Lee Smith, Irving; daughter Teresa Jackson,
Waxahachie; two grandchildren; three brothers; three sisters and other
family members and many loving friends.

David Small
Services for David Randolph Small, 67, are set for 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13,
2011 (today), in the Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel in Kemp. Interment to
follow in Kemp Cemetery. A visitation will held from 10 a.m.- noon at the
funeral home.
Small was born on July 31, 1944, to Betty and Cuthbert Small in Milwaukee,
Wis. and died Oct. 6, 2011.
He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam as a Morse code interceptor and
marksman. He retired from Texacone as a supervisor.
He loved playing dress-up and pretend grocery store with his grandchildren
and taking them to Six Flags. At home, his favorite past times were watching
M.A.S.H. and episodes of Jeopardy, as well as his favorite sports teams. He
enjoyed challenging crossword puzzles or learning the new technology for his
computer and even a daily nap.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Laurie Turner and Barbara
Lione.
Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Connie Small; son Robert
Small; daughter April Gage and husband, James; grandchildren, Haliegh,
Susannah and James, due this December; sisters Sue Olney and husband Ed;
Sharon Lehmann and husband Herman; Linda Swindle and Jill Stai; brothers
Jeff Small and wife Mary Ann, and Jim Small; brother-in-law Mike Turner and
wife Cheryl; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and
special pets; Little Bit, Heidi and Sassy.
Eula Adams
Services for Eula Ann Ashton Adams, 76, Mesquite, were held Oct. 8, 2011,
graveside in the Mexia City Cemetery in Mexia.
Adams was born Aug 16, 1935, in Eustace, to Minnie Etta Wallace and Ashton
Elizk Zander and died Oct. 5, 2011, in Mesquite.
Eula married Charles Edwin Adams Oct. 12, 1956, in Dallas. She was Baptist
in faith.
She was preceeded in death by her parents and husband.
Survivors include daughter Tena Ann Ferris, Dallas; sons Joe Charles Adams
and wife Laurie, Forney; and Samuel Kevin Adams of Mesquite; grandchildren
Miranda Renae Glasscock and husband Jason, Kristopher Joe Adams, Matthew
Sean Adams and wife Angel, Tiffany Fanae Bennett and husband Kyle, Zachary
Lewis Petty and Michele Smith, Shae Deann Petty, Hailee Jannice Petty,
Ashley Kay Adams and fiancé Nathan Lewis, Hillary Ann Adams, David Osbourne
III and Blake Osbourne; great grandchildren Ryan Charles Glasscock, Dylan
Adams and Presleigh Raeanne Petty, the entire loving Ashton family including
sisters Mary Lee Meeks Simmons, Alene Bradley, Lometa Domenici, Brenda
Wheeler and Vivian Hesser, very special friend Charles Lee Hatchel as well
as numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.
Lillie Phillips
Services for Lillie May Phillips, 100, Canton, were held Oct. 9, 2011, at
Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton. Burial will be in Haven of Memories,
Canton.
Phillips was born April 28, 1911, in Malakoff, to Ada White and John I.
McManus. She died Oct. 6, 2011, in Canton.
She was a member of Walnut Springs Bible Baptist and worked for Malouf
sewing factory in Canton and Wills Point for over 20 years. Lillie was a
loving mother and devoted grandmother. She also loved her pet dog Curley
Bill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edgar E. Phillips, sons
Darrell Phillips, Shannon Phillips, and Don Phillips; twin brother Lonnie
McManus; two grandchildren & one great-great-grandchild.
Survivors include daughter Bonnie Massey, Canton; grandsons James Massey and
wife Sandra, David Massey, Shannon Phillips Jr. and wife Sandra, Troy
Phillips and wife Leslie, Denny Phillips and wife Tami, and Michael Phillips
and wife Catilina; granddaughters Donna Melton and husband Todd and Niecy
McBride and husband Jerry; 15 great grandchildren and 11
great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are all grandsons.
