Hunter Education Course Set
A hunter education course has been set for 6 p.m. Oct. 16, 17
and 20, at the Mabank High School Ag building.
According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD),
every hunter (including out-of-state hunters) born on or after
Sept. 2, 1971, must successfully complete a Hunter Education
Training Course. Minimum age of certification is 9 years of age.
Any individual may also take the course on a voluntary basis,
and is encouraged to attend.
The cost of the course is $15.

Highlights Lady Bulldogs win, breast
cancer gets a donation

EUSTACEThe Eustace Lady Bulldogs, teaming up with the Malakoff
Lady Tigers, raised more than $4,500 for the Side-Out Foundation
during the recent Dig Pink campaign to raise money for breast
cancer research.

The Malakoff and Eustace volleyball teams combined to raise more
than $4,500 for the Side-Out Foundation, which works to unite
volleyball players and coaches and to have them work toward the
common goal of furthering breast cancer awareness, education and
patient services. Players from the two teams held their Dig Pink
event last Friday in Malakoff. Eustace won the match in three
games 25-16, 25-14 and 25-9.
Last Friday, Eustace also defeated the Malakoff Lady Tigers in
three games 25-16, 25-14, 25-9.
Tuesday, the Lady Dogs defeated the Teague Lady Lions in three
games 25-22, 25-9and 25-22.
In the match, Catania Grant had eight kills, three digs, one
stuff block and an ace serve. Mallory Keeling racked up 18
assists and two stuff blocks, while Peyton Dibari had two kills
and a stuff block.
The Lady Bulldogs will host the Mildred Lady Eagles Tuesday.

The WGA club championship games were held at the Cedar Creek
Country Club Oct. 1-2. The women had three flights the winning
championship flight top gross winner was Marianna Ziegler with
Louise Powers as net winner. First flight gross winner was Rita
Files with Rhonda Brooks as net winner. Second flight gross
winner was Helen Fowler with Donna Shumacher as net.
