Doyle Lewis
Services for Doyle Andrew Lewis, 66, Mabank, were held Oct. 16, 2010, at the Mabank Church
of Christ. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery under the direction of Moorhead Epps Funeral
Home in Gun Barrel City.
Lewis was born July 28, 1944, in Lamesa to Mae Omi Kidd and Andrew James Lewis and died
Oct. 10, 2010, in Mabank.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He worked for the Mabank Independent School District for 20 years and was a member of the
Mabank Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife Angela Jane Mash, Mabank; children Douglas Lewis, Hurst; Ginger
Lewis, Mabank; grandson Nathan Bartmess; brother R.D. Lewis and wife Carol, Gail; Ike
Lewis and wife Penny, Amarillo; sister Mary Lou Darling and husband Bruce, Burleson; and a
host of family and friends.Maudie Sorrells
Services for Maudie Faye Sorrells, 88, were held Oct. 12, 2010, at the Moorhead Epps
Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City. Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
Sorrells was born Jan. 21, 1922, to Amanda and Tom Carroll and died Oct. 8, 2010, in
Athens.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband of 64 years William Bill Smith,
daughter Doris Ann Sorrells, son William Carroll Sorrells, sisters Mary Lightfoot and
Dorothy Patterson, brothers Tom Son and Robert Carroll.
She was a wonderful woman, a good wife and mother and friend. She loved her six children
from the top of their heads to their toes.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Followwell, Jean Sorrells and Billie Forrester;
son Toby Sorrells; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 16
great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Jadrien Miller-Ledbetter
Jadrien Joe Miller-Ledbetter, three months, Terrell, was born June 28, 2010, and died Oct.
7, 2010, at his home in Mabank.
Survivors include his mother, April Miller, father Joe Ledbetter, brother Mason Blake
Giddens, great-grandmother Ola Woods, great-grandfather Lee Allen Miller, great-uncle Lee
Andrew Miller, godmother Shardae McCane and numerous other family members.
Reda Wright
Services for Reda Wright, 76, Gun Barrel City, were held Oct. 14, 2010, at the Eubank
Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Steve Glosup officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery
under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Wright was born Dec. 10, 1933, in Pantatac, Miss., and died Oct. 11, 2010, in Athens.
Previously of Edgewood, she had resided in Mabank since 1974, and was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her daughters, Bethany Ishmael and husband James, Mabank; and Jo Ann
Morphis, Gun Barrel City; sons David Morphis and wife Cindy, Royce City; and Michael
Morphis, Keller; granddaughter Phoebe Ishmael, Mabank; grandson Nash Morphis; several
other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other family members and many friends.
Pallbearers were Matt Kujath, Jason Sapp, Jeremy Cheek, Brandon Cross and J.T. Collard.
Ronnie Stubblefield
Services for Ronnie Ewing Stubblefield, 58, were held Oct. 17, 2010, at the Moorhead Epps
Funeral Home Chapel in Gun Barrel City.
Stubblefield was born Sept. 26, 1952, to Dollie Pat Smith and Joe Louis Stubblefield and
died Oct. 13, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his children, Brian Stubblefield and wife Christina; Shane, Joe and
Kasey Stubblefield; mother Dollie Taylor and husband Bennie; stepmother Barbara
Stubblefield; brother Mickey Stubblefield and wife Linda; sister Carrie Dearmond and
husband Leon.
Welcome Turner
Services for Welcome Lee Turner, 75, Mabank, were held Oct. 20, 2010, at the Eubank
Funeral Chapel with Steve Glosup officiating. Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery under the
direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
Turner was born Sept. 11, 1935, in Van Zandt County to Thelma Dixon and Lacy Turner and
died Oct. 17, 2010, in Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cynthia Anne Turner, great-granddaughter
Lily Horton Kiser, sisters Myrina Vaughn, Evelyn Splawn and Loraine Dickerson, brothers
Manuel and Jerald Turner.
He was a farmer all his life. He enjoyed building motors, being outside and taking care of
his lovely wife for 53 years. He was a great husband, father, brother and grandfather. He
was willing to help anyone in need and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Nora Turner, Mabank; son Kevin Turner and wife Julie, Mabank;
daughters LaDonna Horton Anderson and husband Gary L., Garland; Theresa Davis and husband
John, Kaufman; granddaughters Alexandria Horton, Garland; Ashleigh Davis, Kaufman; and
Haleigh Turner, Mabank; grandsons Joshua Horton, Garland; Justin and Tyler Davis, Kaufman;
Kevin Turner, Kaufman; and Dylan Butler, Garland; sisters Betty Oats and husband Billy,
Eustace; and Carolyn Gibbs, Athens; and brother Eldon Turner, Cooper.
Pallbearers were Josh Horton, Justin Davis, Tyler Davis, Dylan Baker, Gary L. Anderson and
John Davis.
Donna Gammons
Services for Donna Gail Gammons, 54, Gun Barrel City, were held Oct. 17, 2010, at the
Beacon Church of Christ with Ken Maddox officiating. Burial was in Kemp Cemetery under the
direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home.
Gammons was born July 24, 1956, in Dallas to Sharon Manning and Don Sturch and died Oct.
14, 2010, in Gun Barrel City.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Sturch, brother Greg Sturch, grandparents
Gladys Orland Bonfiglio, Gertrude and Jack Sturch.
She was a department manager at Walmart. She was a member of Relay For Life, Muscular
Dystrophy Conners Heros, and Take a Kid Fishing.
She was a member of the Beacon Church of Christ.
Survivors include her father, Don Sturch, Kemp; stepmother Martha Sturch, Kemp; daughters
Misty Escobar and husband Agustin, Gun Barrel City; Leslie Ward, Gun Barrel City;
grandsons Jamie Storey and Travis Ward, both of Gun Barrel City; granddaughters Juliana
Escobar, Gun Barrel City; sister Pam Morgan, Garland; brother Rickey Sturch and wife
Linda, Seven Points; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Travis Ward, Bill Minnix, Gary Sturch, Brian Morgan, Jamie Storey and
Billy Randall Minnix.
