Services for Mary Lue Hester Glenn, 93, Kemp, were held Oct. 19, 2006, at the Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp with Bro. Royce Barker officiating. Burial followed in Kemp Cemetery.
Glenn was born June 14, 1913, in Forestburg to John J. and Bessie (Hord) Barnett and died Oct. 14, 2006, in Kaufman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Bryan Hester, daughter Patsy Lewis and second husband Horace Glenn.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kemp. She lived in Kemp, moved to California, moved back to Kemp for the last 15 years.
Survivors include her children Curtis Hester, Carrollton, Ga.; Mel Hester, Hyampom, Calif.; Marietta French, Livingston; Wayne Hester, Orofino, Idaho; James Hester, Weiser, Idaho; and Travis Hester, Big Timber, Mont; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; brother Sandy Barnett, Kemp; sister Lessie Dickey, Grandview; numerous other relatives and friends.
Services for Dennis Neighbors, 49, Dallas, were held Oct. 20, 2006, at Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Terry Johnson officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Neighbors was born April 12, 1957, in Dallas and died Oct. 17, 2006, in Dallas. He was preceded in death by his father Lewis Neighbors and first wife Lynn Neighbors.
He had lived in Dallas for 20 years and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a member of the Masonic Roddy Lodge and a past member of the Mabank Fire Department. He was a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife Sue Neighbors, Dallas; son Nick Degard, Fate; daughter Amber Stockton, Dallas; brother Larry Neighbors, Scurry; sister Kim Flanery, Mabank; brother-in-law Danny Perkins and wife Vicki.
Pallbearers were Jason and Nathan Neighbors, Arron Jones, Dakota Flanery, Danny Perkins, Jason Hatcher, Nick Degard and Glenn Robinson.
Honorary pallbearers were Mel Prince, Robert Alldredge, Curtis Hunt, Tim Towson, Billy Don Davis, Lester Beasley, John Boren, Glen and Tyler Smith, Gary Jones and Danny Perkins Sr.
Ila A. Alumbaugh
Services for Ila A. Alumbaugh, 87, Emory, were held Oct. 19, 2006, at Cedar Creek Memorial Park with the Rev. Dwight Prather officiating under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Alumbaugh was born Oct. 24, 1916, in Argonia, Kan., and died Oct. 16, 2006, in Emory.
She lived most of her life in Derby, Kan., and lived in Emory from 1986-2002. She was a secretary-treasurer and retired from Beech Aircraft Corp.
Survivors include her son David Alumbaugh and wife Wilma June, Rowlett; daughter Ruth Runnels and husband Jack, Emory; grandchildren Mike Alumbaugh, Blake Hartley, Barbara Horton, Debbie Fife and Dana Clem; and 10 great-grandchildren.
