Services for Jack Marion Smith, 82, Morrilton, Ark., were held Oct. 22, 2008, at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Alan Austin officiating.
Burial was in Cana Cemetery in Van Zandt County under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Smith was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Liberty Hill and died Oct. 16, 2008, in Morrilton, Ark.
Previously of the Cedar Creek Lake area, he had resided in Arkansas for the past two years and was of the Baptist faith.
He retired from Exxon in 1966, after 39 years service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Swindle Smith, Morrilton, Ark.; daughters April Ann Jones, Liberty Hill; and Jayne Moreah Condley, Hector, Ark.; grandchildren Christopher M. Jones, Dawn Elizabeth Garcia, Dustin Goodwyn and Myles Douglas Goodwyn; sons-in-law Richard Jones and Tim Condley; grandson-in-law Noel Garcia; four stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandson.
Pallbearers were Tim Condley, Jayne Condley, Chris Jones, Noel Garcia, Dustin Goodwyn, Myles Goodwyn, Steve Swindle and Gary Swindle.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
A celebration of life for Jack Edward Newsome, 38, Log Cabin, was held Oct. 24, 2008, at Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff with the Rev. Jim Goodson officiating.
Newsome was born April 15, 1970, and died Oct. 18, 2008.
He left this world to be with his brother Danny.
He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
He loved spending time with his family, going fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys play.
Survivors include his parents Patsy and William Newsome, Greenville; children Andrea Newsome, Corsicana; and Edward Newsome, Dallas; grandson Alex, Corsicana; brother Michael Lawson, Greenville; sisters Tammy McKee, Payne Springs; Priscilla Snowden, Greenville; and Brenda Torrez, Log Cabin; many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Tony Snowden Jr., Preston Snowden, Raymond Sepeda, Dale Combs, Jeremy Combs and Joshua Gibson.
Services for Martha Dell Pendleton, 65, Kemp, were held Oct. 23,2008, at the First Baptist Church in Seven Points with the Rev. David Lewis officiating.
Interment followed in the Baker Cemetery in the Tolosa Community near Kemp under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp.
Pendleton was born May 23, 1943, in Winters, to Eva Mae Nickels and Delton Jesse Riddle and died Oct. 20, 2008, in Kaufman County.
She was preceded in death by her husband Doyce Lester “D.L.” Pendleton whom she married Jan. 6, 1959, father, a son, Roy Keith Pendleton, Jan. 31, 1966, and a sister Jackie Sue Walker.
Survivors include her daughters Anna Rohanda Witt and husband Michael Lee, Kemp; Gwendolyn S. Wright and husband Kenneth, Kemp; and Martha May Sublett and husband Jimmy, Kemp; son Doyce Lester Pendleton Jr. and wife Kimberly of Kemp; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; mother Eva Mae Potter, Abilene; sisters Glenda F. Angley and husband Coy, Abilene; Anna Paulette Baucum, Abilene; Jeannie Marie Woods and husband Jerry, Abilene; brother Delton Roy Riddle and wife Bobbie, Granbury; brother-in-law Freddie Pendleton and wife Onie, Kaufman; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
Pallbearers were Lester Pendleton, K.C. Huff, Terry Wright, Gary Wright, Shawn Sublett and Joey McCary.
Honorary pallbearer was Michael Witt.
