Howard Amason
Services for Howard Lynn Amason, 66, were held on Oct. 23, 2011, at
Moorehead-Melton Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home.
Howard was born April 11, 1945, in Corpus Christi to Dessie Beatrice Key and
Exer Curville Amason and died Oct. 20, 2011, in Mabank.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include daughter Taffina Voyles; son John Amason; four sisters and
three grandchildren.

Winnie Crouch
Services for Winnie Yvonne Crouch, 92, Dallas, were held Oct. 25, 2011, at
the Payne Springs United Methodist Church under the direction of Eubank
Funeral Home in Mabank. Interment was at Payne Springs Cemetery.
Crouch was born July 3, 1919, in Ben Wheeler to Addie Berry and Elmer
Davidson and died Oct. 21, 2011.
She was a member of the Payne Springs United Methodist Church and was
involved in the church’s prayer circle. She loved her husband of 53 yrs.,
Joseph, with all her heart.
Crouch was an avid reader and received her bachelor’s degree in Home
Economics at North Texas State Teacher’s College. She was a teacher for 14
years and worked in the insurance industry for 14 years.
She was also involved in Meals on Wheels and the Grandma’s Club.

Ivie Stockman
Services for Ivie “Genie” Stockman, 81, Kemp, were held Oct. 26, 2011, at
Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at King
Cemetery.
Stockman was born Nov. 1, 1929, in Henderson County, to Julia (Henson) and
Ervie Henderson and died at her residence Oct. 24, 2011.
She lived her entire life in the Kaufman and Henderson County area. She
attended the Aley School and Kemp High School.
Stockman was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy R. Stockman,
brothers Frank and Lloyd Henderson, daughter Joyce Stockman Conditt and son
Reagan Stockman.
Survivors include daughters Vicky Killian and husband Larry, Mabank; Lisa
Ashton and husband Donny, Mabank; grandchildren Brett and Eric Killian,
Chrystal Cole, Garret and Tyler Stockman and Kaleb Ashton; great
grandchildren Devin Killian and Justin and Brooke Cole; sister-in-law Joy
Henderson, Quitman; several nieces and nephews.

Jessie Sanders
Services for Jessie Pearl Tarlton-Sanders, 87, of Gun Barrel City were held
Oct. 25, 2011, at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Chapel with Rev. Byron Jones
and Rev. Dan Hawkins officiating.
Tarlton-Sanders was born Oct.14, 1924, in Mabank to Mary (Thompson) and Hugh
Whatley and died Oct. 22, 2011.
She enjoyed collecting owls and cows, mowing her lawn, fishing and reading.
She was a nurses’ aide at Terrell State Hospital and worked her way up to
the head nurses’ aide position. She was a member of the First Baptist Church
of Gun Barrel City.
Tarlton-Sanders was preceded in death by her parents, 11 brothers and
sisters, and her son Michael Wycough.
Survivors include her son, Terry Wycough and his wife, Mary, Wylie; brother
Richard Tarlton, Dallas; daughter-in-law Debbie Wycough, Gun Barrel City;
nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild
and many other family and friends.

Larry Allen
Services for Larry Thomas Allen, 60, Gun Barrel City, were held Oct. 15,
2011, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank with Bro. Phillip Ray officiating under
the direction of The Moorhead Epps Funeral Home.
Allen was born May 31, 1951, in Dallas, to Virginia Newton and Thomas Burns
Allen and died at his home Oct. 5, 2011.
Allen owned L.A. Stylist in Mesquite for 18 years and was a truck driver for
several companies including Synder Trucking and Arkansas Best Freight Lines
(ABF).
He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Joyce Allen, and brother
Jimmy L. Allen.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Shirley Allen; children Larry Thomas
Allen Jr., Devon Thomas Allen and his wife, Kristi; Angela Ann Douglas and
her husband, Christopher; Jordan Temple Allen and Jacob L. Allen;
stepdaughter Leslie Russell and her husband, Daniel; stepson James Tuner
King; parents Virginia and Thomas Allen; brother Roland L. Allen;
grandchildren Timber and Jennifer Borcaco, Kaitlan Massey and husband Matt;
Graci Douglas, Noah Ray Allen and Addison Douglas; great granddaughter

John Nekuza
Services for John A Nekuza, 74, Malakoff, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday,
Oct. 29, 2011, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Seven Points.
Nekuza was born Oct. 17, 1937, in Malakoff and died Oct. 18, 2011.
Nekuza was preceded in death by his wife, Josephyne, and mother Eva M.
Robertson Nekuza.
Survivors include son Jeff Nekuza, Carrollton; daughter Tracye Zimmerman,
Grand Prairie; granddaughter Meagan Zimmerman, Grand Prairie; sisters Darla
Allen, Malakoff and Margie Blair, Spring Branch; and many loving friends.
Thomas Cummings
Services for Thomas L. Cummings, 74, will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 29, 2011,
at West Place Nursing Home in Athens under the direction of Moorhead Epps
Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City.
Cummings was born Sept. 23, 1937, in Boswell, Okla. to Amy Alline and
Richard Allen Cummings and died Oct. 21, 2011, in Athens.
He was a farmer and a resident of West Place Nursing Home.
Survivors include his brother, Joe Lee Cummings; sisters Helen Killman, and
her husband James, Estelle Davis, Ruby Sledge and Faye Guthrie; numerous
nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Robert Holder
Services for Robert Husted Holder Jr., 64, Gun Barrel City, were held Oct.
23, 2011, at the Aley Methodist Church with Rev. Eston Williams and James
Dorman officiating under the direction of Moorhead Epps Funeral Home in Gun
Barrel City.
Holder was born June 15, 1947, in San Diego, Calif. to Opal Louise Martin
and Robert Husted Holder Sr. and died Oct. 20, 2011, at his home in Gun
Barrel City.
He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Jayne Holder; son Jeff Holder and wife
Tammy; grandchildren Robert Holder and Richard Holder; step-grandchildren
Braison and Melody Shelly; loving nephews, nieces, and other family members
and friends.

Lee Thompson
Visitation for Lee Eugene Thompson, 80, of Trinidad, was held Oct. 24, 2011,
at Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points.
Thompson was born Aug. 21, 1931, in Sullivan County, Ind., to Lucile Pearl
McCammon and Lee Thompson Sr. and died Oct. 20, 2011, in Athens.
Thompson worked as a maintenance man for Garland High School and was a
member of the VFW Posts No. 4133 and No. 4376, in Seven Points.
He also served in the Army from Feb 26, 1953, to Feb 23, 1955.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dean, Hop, and Kenneth
Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Janice Thompson, Trinidad; sons Lee
Eugene Thompson Jr., John Frances Thompson and Richard Thompson; sisters
Darlene Beckett and Rose Thompson; brothers Harold and Frank Thompson;
numerous grandchildren.
A memorial service is pending for a later date.
Melissa Provence
Melissa Ann Provence, 44, of Kaufman, died Oct. 17, 2011. She was born March
22, 1967, in Dallas to Betty Ann (Sherwood) and James Leroy Jernigan.
She loved to fish and was Baptist by faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, William Ray Campbell; sons Jessy Cody
Jernigan, William Michael Jernigan, William Ray Campbell Jr., and Robert Ray
Campbell; daughter Skye Nadine Jernigan; brothers Stephen Paul Jernigan and
James Michael Jernigan, as well as many loving family and friends.
