Ralph Templin
Services for Ralph Wright Templin, 74, Payne Springs were held Oct. 26, 2010, at the Moorhead Epps Memorial Chapel in Gun Barrel City with David Johnston officiating. Burial was in Bells Chapel Cemetery in Rocket under the direction of Moorhead Epps Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City.
Templin was born June 27, 1936, in Lewisville to Ada Lilly and Thomas William Templin and died Oct. 23, 2010, in Payne Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Maggie Templin, sisters Pauline Henry and Alyne Cook, brother Jack Templin, stepdaughter Debbie Anderson and stepgrandson Shane Anderson.
He grew up with his three brothers and three sisters in Ellis County.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1954, and received several commendations and certificates and received an honorable discharge in 1957. He continued service in the Army Reserves until 1962.
He was a successful salesman, working for J.G. Boyd Appliance, Modern Age Appliance and retired from Sears in 1999.
He had lived with his current wife, Shirley, for 29 years.
One of his favorite pastimes was cooking on the grill for his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Templin, Payne Springs; sons Ralph Wayne Templin and wife Kim, Athens; Steve Templin and wife Mary, Payne Springs; daughters Becky Shelton and husband Bob, McKinney; Julie Seymore and husband Randy, Wilsonville, Ore.; sister Evelyn Holt, Italy; brothers Sonny and Jake Templin, both of Arlington; grandchildren Krista Garcia, Justin Harris, DeAnna Smith, Joseph Harris, Jaime Taylor, CaSandra McKinney, Jonathan Harris and Kambra Templin; stepchildren David Reneau, Dennis Massey, Randi Ferrell, Carson Anderson, Michael B. Moore, Matthew Anderson, Samantha Melgar and Cassie Reneau; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn Holt, Italy; brothers Sonny and Jake Templin, both of Arlington; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a host of friends, some of whom he worked out with at the Olympic Center during the last few years.

Wanda F. Henderson
Services for Wanda F. Henderson, 80, Gun Barrel City, were held Oct. 27, 2010, at the Aley Family Worship Center with the Rev. Hamp Manning officiating. Burial was at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Scurry under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Henderson was born May 9, 1930, in Brownwood and died Oct. 22, 2010, in Gun Barrel City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LilyMaye and Melvin Chasteen, husband J.B. Henderson, son Melvin “Sonny” Felts, brother Samuell Chasteen, grandson Dallas Weder and great-grandchild Richard Hutchins.
She had resided in Gun Barrel City for the past 40 years and was a member of the Aley Family Worship Center. Everyone called her “Mama.”
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda “Wezee” Brown, Gun Barrel City; Rita Fowler, Eustace; and Mayelene Brooks, Murchison; sons Glen Felts and wife MaryLee, Tool; Henry Felts and wife Jo, Mabank; and Ronny Henderson, Mabank; brother Tommy Chasteen and wife Shirley, Prairieville; 25 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
Pallbearers were George Middelton, Bubba Felts, Judge Reece, Eddie Reece, Melvin Felts Jr. and James Felts.
