Central
Elementary to present Nutcracker
Monitor Staff Reports
MABANKThe third and fourth graders of Central Elementary have something very special
planned for their upcoming Christmas musical.
This should top last years Christmas production, musical director Kay
Williams said.
All 160 students are presenting The Nutcracker at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at
the Mabank High School Auditorium.
The musical includes seven choreographed dances performed in custom-designed costumes,
Williams added.
The students are well-rehearsed and excited to present their efforts to the
public, she said.
Special lighting effects and decor that drops down from the ceiling will help bring
Claras dream of The Land of Sweets to life.
Also, Williams welcomes guest performer Maddie Dillon of the Dance Factory in Kaufman as
the Snow Queen.St. Peter Lutheran hosts
Thanksgiving meal
Monitor Staff Reports
CEDAR CREEK LAKEThis will be the third year St. Peter Lutheran Church in Gun Barrel
City will host a free Thanksgiving Day meal for those at loose ends during the American
holiday that acknowledges Gods provision in our lives.
This time of year can be difficult for some who have lost key loved ones. It can be
a lonely time, so we want to reach out to the community in this way and show that we
care, Pastor Scott Schaller said.
The members of the congregation are once again bringing out their best holiday recipes and
decorations to make for a festive time of fellowship and, of course, the giving of thanks.
The congregation invites any needy or lonely person in the area to join them for lunch
between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25.
Perhaps you know someone who could use the boost of a Thanksgiving meal. Please
invite them to join us, Schaller said.
In years past, the church has hosted around 160 for the Thanksgiving holiday meal.

The domino effect is a chain reaction that occurs when a small
change causes a similar change nearby, which then will cause another similar change, and
so on. My name is Domino, and I got my name not only because Im black and white like
a domino tile, but also because my outgoing, cheerful personality causes my doggie
roommates to smile. This also causes our human friends to smile, which even causes the
kitties in the cat room to smile.
I am an 8-month-old male Pointer/Terrier mix. I love children, other dogs, and even get
along great with kitties. Ive had all my shots and am ready to be adopted. If
youd like to experience the domino effect, I am sure to put a forever smile on your
face when you take me to my forever home.
I currently live with a foster family, so if you would like to meet me, call my friends at
the Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake at (903) 432-3422 to make an appointment. You can
also email them at dogshsccl@yahoo.com.
