Services for Robert Lee Guthrie, 70, Kemp, were held Dec. 13, 2007, at King Cemetery with Bro. Leonard Eason officiating under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points.
Guthrie was born Nov. 16, 1937, in Dallas to the late Gracie Lee and Fred Guthrie and died Dec. 11, 2007, at his home in Kemp. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Martha LaVerne Silky, brother Floyd Guthrie, grandchildren Carl Lee, Cody Allen and Amber Nicole Silky.
He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Faye LaVerne Guthrie and sons Robert Michael Guthrie, Roger Dale Busby, Charles David Busby and Grady Wayne Busby; daughters Kathy Jenkins, Leslie Guthrie, Donna Cotton, Sharrie Cootes and Lisa Islas; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services for Herbert Ellis Williams, 76, Malakoff, were held Dec. 13, 2007, at the United Methodist Church in Malakoff with Chaplain Tom Sims officiating. Interment was in Malakoff Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff.
Williams was born June 2, 1931, in Kilgore to the late Nellie Irene Massey and Bolie C. Williams and died Dec. 10, 2007, in Park Highland Nursing Center. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Gloria Sue Williams.
He was a barber and veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and was wounded in action during the Korean War. He was a missionary in Mexico and loved playing golf, painting, spending time with his family and talking about the Lord.
Survivors include his daughters Kathy Williams, Kaufman; Wendy and husband Allen Hulse, Chandler; sons Mark and wife Lanette Williams, Canton; James and wife Robin Williams, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Scott and wife Darla Williams, Opelika; grandchildren Joel and wife Amber Dunacusky Jr., Morgan and husband DeWayne Glasscock, Carey Hulse, Stephanie Williams, Peyton Williams, Melissa Hulse, Bryce Williams, Michael Williams, Whitney Williams and Zachery Williams; great-grandchildren Lantz, Hannah and Joel Dunacusky III, Bailie and Logan Glasscock.
Pallbearers were Allen Hulse, Carey Hulse, Joel Dunacusky Jr., DeWayne Glasscock, Glenn Williams and Findley Brewster.
Honorary pallbearers were Peyton Williams and Bryce Williams.
