Services for Lorene Salyer, 75, Mabank, were held Dec. 16, 2009, at the First Baptist Church of Mabank with the Rev. Brent Tucker officiating. Burial was in Cedar Creek Memorial Park under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Salyer was born May 26, 1934, in Somerset and died Dec. 13, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her brother Carlton Alvis Wood and parents Opal and Walter Wood.
She had resided in Mabank since 1982, and retired in 1997. She worked in the Mabank Family Pharmacy along with her husband Don Salyer in the family business for many years.
She had a heart for missions, going to China, India and Cambodia and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mabank.
Survivors include her husband Don Salyer, Mabank; daughter Kimberly Sue Hall and husband Rick, Tyler; sons Glen Edwin Salyer and wife Tammy, Duncanville; and Rodney Harold Salyer, Mabank; grandchildren Jed Hall, Tyler; Jackson and Nadia Salyer, Duncanville; sisters Annie Laura Stovall, San Antonio; and Dora Elizabeth Cox, Perry, Okla.; and brother Ira Lindzie Wood, Sinton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mabank, Valley Missions, 113 E. Mt. Vernon St., Mabank, TX 75147.
Services for Willene LeCocq Baxter, 81, Mabank, were held Dec. 14. 2009, at the Payne Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Diller officiating. Burial was in Frost Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Baxter was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Frost and died Dec. 9, 2009, in Mabank.
She was preceded in death by her daughters Jill Hopton Jones and Patricia LeCocq.
Previously of Dallas, she had resided in Payne Springs since the 1980s. She was a member of the Payne Springs United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and was a volunteer with the library.
Survivors include her son Mel Shuler Jr., Dallas; daughters Janet Powell, Irving; and Adrienne Mrozek and husband Ron, Lebanon, Ohio.; grandchildren Jenny Lackey, Mark Mrozek, Kendall Mrozek, Justin Powell, Ryan Powell, Jeffery Hopton-Jones and Bryan Hopton-Jones, Steven Shuler and David Shuler; great-great-grandchildren Ayden Powell, Cannan Lackey and Anston Powell.
Pallbearers were Justin Powell, Ryan Powell, Jeffery Hopton-Jones, Brian Hopton-Jones, Steven Shuler and David Shuler.
Services for Norman Wayne Everitt were held at Moorhead Epps Funeral Chapel in Gun Barrel City. Burial was in Payne Springs Cemetery.
Everitt was born Dec. 4, 1930, to Floyce Holt and Bence Everitt and died Dec. 10, 2009, in Athens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bencie Everitt and sister Sue Wright.
He was a cattle rancher for several years, county employee doing road work for 10 years and a barber. He served two years in the army stationed in Germany.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years Peggy; children Sheryl Lane, Mark Everitt, Andy Moncrief and wife Lisa; sister Ann Stegall; grandchildren David Russell, Jason Russell, Chad Klitz, Bradley Everitt, Michael Everitt, Toby Moncrief, Ashely Moncrief; and eight great-grandchildren.
