indicted in ’09 fatal Cedar Creek Lake wreck Monitor Staff Reports ATHENS–The driver of a boat destroyed in an early-morning crash that killed an Athens woman was indicted for Criminally Negligent Homicide by the Henderson County Grand Jury Dec. 6. Tony Thomas Tudor, 37, from Caney City, was at the wheel when the boat crashed into the West Cedar Creek Municipal Utility District’s raw water intake structure near Don’s Port Marina shortly after midnight June 7, 2009. Shanna Lee Williams, 39, of Athens, died of her injuries. Tudor (then 35) was also seriously injured, and airlifted from the scene by helicopter. Six people were aboard the boat with Tudor and Williams, four other men and a boy, about 8, who didn’t appear to be related to Williams, according to Henderson County Sheriff’s Office reports. According to reports, one of the men swam about 500 yards to shore to report the crash at 12:26 a.m. The Monitor was told the intake structure is lit at night and marked by buoys. Tudor’s indictment was one of 57 True Bills returned by the grand jury, according to information released Wednesday by District Attorney R. Scott McKee.
